I love that generation coupe, especially if they look like they've been taken care of. Looks-wise, I think it's better than the E36 M3.
a VW bus as a DD. There's an idea haha.
So you're just going to pocket the cash insurance gives you if they don't find the car for now?

This one is sweet... sport package, 52k on it... very nice rig drove it today. I like the color, too. I have some dual Webbers that'll go into the Bus plus a few other things... just take some of the cash and put it into an engine rebuild, etc.
We get all kinds of interesting trades in... I've falled in love a few times but maybe someday something I gotta have will come in... who knows?

Id just wait it out. If you have something else to drive wait for the right car to come along.
Plus, I think you should drop a Porsche engine in the bus:

Or if its a new bus:

BMW's are painfully expensive beyond the warranty though. We just spent $2500 to extend the warranty for the rest of our ownership on the 2006 3 series we have. This includes free everything. BMW Northwest gave us a great deal and I told my wife with as much as we spent on this thing, it's never getting traded or sold!

I know they can be expensive. I think the 2000-2003s are a little earier on the wallet than the news ones... less tech stuff. But brakes and things can be pricey.
Porsche engines are cool or Subaru engines. I've seen a Bus with a Porsche engine in it... very fast and loud!

For the 5 years I had my CL I only had a headlight ballast go out and the chrome peeled a little on the driver's latch. Aside from those two things the car was bullet proof. Bought it with about 26,000 miles and it was last seen with about 82,000 miles. It was a fantastic car with only minor problems hydroplaning. Having driven perhaps 100 different makes and models or cars since I've been selling cars for 6 years I'd have to say the CL ranked at the top. Of course, I'd put the MB C63, BMW M3 or M5, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, and other cars at the top but they didn't cost $22,500.00 either (what I paid for my CL-S).
Out of the cars that did compete with the CL I can't honestly recall any that I would have wanted to live with on a daily basis when I think about backseat room, trunk size, power, and creature comforts. outside of the NSX, I think the CL-S M/T was the best car Acura has ever built. Were it RWD I'd have rated it damn close to a 10.
I'm glad I took my CL on trips when I first got it and saddened that I've been working so much I only drove it about 2 miles per day for the last 2 years. Still, I did own my car during its golden years and now that I'm relieved of payments and insurance costs I'll be keeping a lot of money in my pocket every month. Still, I wish the car hadn't of gone out in the way that it did. I think the best mod I did was the short shift adapter and the lip spoiler, both of which I learned about on Azine.
I guess I'll be in the Off Topic areas.
My advice for your CL is to get Lojack, keep your VIN covered, and maybe install a kill switch someplace in the car. Had I done any of those things I'd probably still be an owner.

Im seriously considering LoJack now as well.
Im sorry the car had to go out the way it did. At least it saves you money in a way.
One less CL-S on the road

Damn. With all the mods I did to my CL, I never had to worry about LoJack, or any other crazy security system.
I guess the car isn't well known in some areas, then others it is.

That's what I thought. I figured the M/T made it a little more interesting but never enough to steal. For five years I was right!
What gets me is they re-stole it. I wonder why they wanted the damn thing so much.

Please post the VIN. The engines have a VIN plate on them. I spend alot of time on other sites so I can keep a look out for it.

I got just the stolen vehicle recovery package and it was a little over $600 shopping around. I kept thinking about it and was like, the car made it this many years without being stolen but then again the people that originally owned it lived out in the sticks.
I was going to replaced all my interior speakers and that crappy bose amp but peace of mind is more important now after reading this thread too. Seattle has hella ricer cars with engine swaps. When I first met my wife, she had a friend that lived right on Alki in West Seattle. Even with a camera garage, she had a Civic SI in that sexy blue. Granted she was from Japan and had the hookup with JDM parts from her brother, twice her car was on bricks in her parking garage...with camera's. Twice is was stolen from a bus park and ride and later found in Olympia or Auburn stripped. She loved that car a lot and her insurance company for some reason never totaled that car, they just rebuilt it over and over. She's the only person I've ever known to have her ride stolen more or less that many times.
After owning this car for a few weeks though, I love it enough that I don't think I'll ever part ways with it. It's going to be work in motion even if I buy something else in a few years. Had I known how rare it was for the manual with Navi and how lucky I was to find it hidden at a Chevy dealership, the last thing I want to do is try to find another one.
My old Audi, I had a lot of fun with it. I traded it with 10K more miles than this car and it drove like crap and was newer. This car is solid and would break me down to have it stolen. I was so tired of my Audi that I was actually sometimes hoping somebody stole it just so I can get the payoff and buy something else lol

If your car isn't stock what you want to do is have it appraised and get an "agreed upon valuation" for your ride. That way, if it gets stolen, insurance gives you a set amount you know in advance. I'm still looking for my VIN.
I think if you pay the $600 it's lifetime recovery. Otherwise you pay like $500 and then $50 per year after the first year or something...
