Stolen CL found, then stolen again..

SFPD isn't going to spend much time on this stuff probably because they don't have the resources. Maybe with the evidence I gave them from other theft rings there will be some incentive but I'm sure they have too much to do. The ECU module was cracked open... maybe to remove that thing maybe not I'm not sure. Still don't know why the engine has to crank 5 times before it starts.
I think they know someone on the inside. Only explanation.
And I should have said the glovebox lock was INTACT but the plastic surrounding it was busted.

I had an oil change at Sears a year ago and new tires put on at the dealership where I work in March.
Must have been the same band of people trying to steal your car. But if they had a key they might come back.

SFPD are dumb and lazy...my car also almost got "hijacked" if you read my posting...they attempted to hijacked my CL...then something scared them off, luckily the thieves didn't have a chance to compelete their job, or else mine would've been gone too...where do you usually get your Acura serviced??...My car and yours got target only weeks apart and I'm in the Richmond District...

Wow man...just noticed the car got stolen again...WTF!!!!
Yeah, Police are not good here in San Francisco.
We only trail New York City by >50 complaints and they have more than 3000 more police officers than we do.
In general, just shitty Police work.
Half the people that work there are corrupt and they other half are unqualified dumb asses.
But really sorry to hear that man.
What neighborhood you at so I can avoid that area...!

We can't blame the cops. After speaking with a few SFPD about this issue they tell me the politically appointed police chief kisses the ass of the Democrats who run the city and does exactly what they want. Those same Democrats also tell the cops what they can and can't do.

I keep a black card cut out from some packaging over my VIN plate. My car is pretty much bone stock and doesn't have anything special, but even then I'm weary of telling near-strangers what I have when they ask about my car. You never know. Same thing when they ask about anything else... my bicycle, whatever. I got it for cheap is what I'm telling them.
Best place to keep it is in the garage. If they DO break into your garage, it's fair game if they try and charge you... Castle Doctrine. Texas and many states in the South have it right though, even if they break into your car, you are allowed to stand your ground.
I'm of the belief that burglars and car thieves (repeats especially) don't deserve to live, period. Sadly CA legislators don't agree with me completely. The penalties are too lenient and the law just doesn't do enough to prevent it.
Another thing.... part of the reason why I don't own a Honda anymore is partly because of how easy they were to steal. I have never even broken into a car before, but after someone broke into my Integra I could see how easy it was to get in.
Good luck with your future cars. I might even consider moving if I were you.... just sayin.

Before my wife got her BMW, she had a 1999 Integra. They didn't steal it and I won't go into details as to how they managed to cut the battery wires without unlocking the car but they made off with her subs, the face of her deck and tried to get the amp but the only way to get it out was to take the passenger seat out. We had a condo back then. Cops came and took fingerprints but still never heard anything about it. Sold the condo and bought the last house we owned after that.
I had a friend as well that owned a 89 civic. He lost his keys and straight up used a screwdriver to start his car. Completely shocked me.

Its SOOOOOOO easy to steal an older Honda. The switch at the end of the ignition barrell can easily be broken off. Insert flat head screw driver and the car is started.
The Integra Type Rs had a "slim-jim-proof" covering on the lock bars within the doors. An easy way to do it to your car (if your inclined to do so) is get some small PVC pipe and cover the bars with it.
When my sister had her old Civic I popped the hood without the alarm going off just to prove to her that I could. It was amazingly simple (and not very comforting).

Yeah, get another CL-6 -- it won't get stolen a second time, right?
anyways, I'm considering getting a new security system. I'm thinking of looking into a Viper setup; I've seen a lot of people in Car Talk say it's good. My car is almost all stock, so I doubt it'd be perfect bait for a car thief, however I'd be SOL if my car was stolen. I have theft coverage, but my insurance is kinda....shit, lol.
And agreed, a pretty sad end to a great car. Especially considering how rare these cars are..

Well I dunno, he did say they put 1,500 miles on it in 3 weeks before. So based on that plus they're thieves, they're undoubtedly being rough on the car, I'd say it might as well be

No more Acuras for me. This vehicle is too easy to steal and even if I were to get another one and have Lojack installed do I want to go through the hassle again? It was a fantastic car but the thought of not having a car payment anymore is appealing to me. My car got the crap driven out of it... my tires, which had been replaced in March, were about 60% done in the front. I'm just glad I didn't modify the exhaust and stuff as I was thinking of doing earlier in the year or adding navigation.
I think Lojack combined with a hidden kill switch would probably keep the car from getting stolen again. I know... any car can be stolen, etc... But having a key made from the VIN and pulling the immobilizer... that's pretty damn easy, isn't it?

My other car was getting neglected due to the Acura so it'll get some restoration work done to it now. I think were I to get another car I'd shoot for a M/T 02-05 BMW 3 Series Coupe. We have a nice one at my work but, like I said, not looking to get into another car.
