Maple is the same as what is in the Millenium Edition Lexus's and yes, the same as whats in the Infiniti QX4 and New Q.

Maple is the pimpenest lookin wood found in cars these days.

I been through the Foliatec catalogue a hundred times and never saw these things... can you point me in the direction.

Its a bitch to read half Swedish half English or whatever the write in.

Im taking them off to get a look at how they are shaped and what not... I know people that make furniture and what not and I wanna see if they can make custom wood pieces.

If not I may paint them silver like the shift-gate or put carbon fiber over them.

Im just soo sick of the bowling ball effect.

The entire is soo stark and boring with this trim.

Thats what I just said brotha...

Do I have a echo today?!?

Hehe... I think it would come out ok...

It looks good in the bimmers.

It wouldnt chip if you prep the trim right...

The problem is matching the color/txture of the shifter.

YO!

Download this PDF file from Foliatec...

It is a online brochure of the products you mentioned:
http://www.foliatec.com/(catalog)/e/...0EInterior.pdf

They also have an interior spray (if you wanna paint your trim)

A Carbon Fiber film... for making your trim carbon fiber.

Colored films... and leather wraps for the trim.

Cool!

Were not talking about a dash kit....

Were talking about changing our STOCK trim...

You know... the wood pieces along the side of the console and on the doors.

There are no aftermarket replacements for those right now.

And why would you put REAL aluminum trim on your dash... if you have fake ass wood sitting right next to it ya know?

I never installed the Dash Kit permanently... just tacked it on to take pics for everyone.

I didnt have the balls to do it permanently cuz I knew I would get tired of it real quick.

While I don't hate the bowling ball trim, I think it would look much better if it were metalic like the shiftgate. Definitely let us know and show us pics if anyone paints the existing trim or figures out how to get it off. I remember people talking about taking it off a while back and someone came to the conclusion that it would be impossible without replacing the whole interior door panel? I think this is what their dealer had told them.

No no no...

The dealer said its impossible to buy replacement pieces... without buying ALL the pieces as a package ($300+)

But you can certainly take off the trim...

I'll ask StreetEffectz... hell know how to do it.

Hey guy's, A while back I mentioned a company online that custom dyed my plastic pieces in my car to match the black maple faux wood in my car. The company is called California Automotive Designs. They are on the web and they go by there website name. These guys are very talented and I'm sure that they would be interested in working with us. They did my Steering Wheel, Shifter Trim, Sunglass Holder, and Wood Shifter to match the CL-S wood. It Matched Perfectly!!!!!!!!!!! I will be Posting Pics soon.

Hey Guys,
The last time I was at my dealership, they had a CL-S with ebony interior in which they covered all of the ugly ass bowling ball trim in leather. It looked great! I will eventually get to doing it. I have been spending my time/money on things that make the car go faster, stop faster, or make it lighter. Once these items are all checked off, than it will be leather covering this trim.

Was the leather the same as the interior color, or was it differnet color then the interior... for two-tone effect?

It was the same, but that is your call. If you want to draw attention than go two tone if not get, get close to the seat color.
