the vendor isn't the issue he's trying to help us out.

Short story is that the front and rear mounts were shipped by the manufacturer and received by the vendor. The bad news is that the side mount was not received. The vendor has been trying to run that down and that's the part I was hoping to have an update on. Once the side mount is received, the vendor is going to send them to me. Once I get them, I'll let everyone know . . . and share some pics, but note that if there are problems with the install and or testing these may not be the final product.

Also, our vendor was out ill most of the past week . . . most likely the swine flu, so that slowed things down a bit.

Anyway, I'm ready to roll as soon as I get them as I need to eliminate my mounts as part of some problems I'm trying to debug.

I'm in no way blaming RUF, but I can't believe it's been nearly 2 months that they've been "ready to ship" and we still don't have anything.

Good things come to those who wait.

I found out that my poly-filled mounts are actually holding up fine. The excess movement and creaking was due to missing bolts on the rear dampener, so Im not in a rush to get these.

But I am definately still open to testing them out.

Thanks. What a PITA, I've read all the DIYs I think more confused on the different types of materials people use...

This is the reason I didn't want to post anything up about the mounts. I didn't want to be harassed nor listen to people complain about timelines, thus the reason I've not posted a thread. Other members wanted to show that there is a new solution and so I gave trusted members some information to try to update you guys. I'm NOT going to rush these. When they are done they will be done. When they arrive I will ship a set to RUF for testing.

There will be no skipping me on this project; these mounts are made for us. They will not be sold to anyone else. When they come out they will be XLR8 engine mounts. I'm trying to offer 2nd gen TL/CL members a good option for motor mounts and I'd appreciate a bit of patience and support while we make this happen. I've already waited months and put up thousands of dollars to manufacture these so be patient; these things take time.

I wasn't asking anyone to "rush" them... I just don't think RUF should be told their ready for shipment when in fact they are several months out. Don't take the bitching personally XLR8, be happy your new product is highly anticipated.

RUF can only go by what he hears from me and I can only go by what I hear from the manufacturer. Unfortunately ETA's are rarely on point. I did receive some mounts for testing but I only the front and rear mount, no side mount. I'm also waiting on a M/T rear mount so there really is no point in sending him mounts when I don't have the complete set. I received this first set over a month ago, maybe more. I've been promised the second set numerous times and supposedly they're on my pallet with the 3rd gen TL mounts.

In my opinion, take your time. As long as they are great when they come out, it will be worth it. I dont want them rushed to market just to have another fiasco similar to Innovative.

As long as the manufacturer actually cares about the customer and their product (yea, Im talking to you Innovative) then these mounts should be good.

, thank you for bringing more products out for our cars , but up already

also i think you should work on a tuning solution for ours cars next (and not a piggyback), so ethier a reflash or a plug and play replacement pcm (with support for the autos, cause some people still not have converted )

wow . . . what have I missed.

I know it's hard to trust this issue with the mounts. We've had so many disappointments, wasted time, wasted money and more. Anyway, several of us have been dealing with this problem for a long time and there are no real short cuts. That's why I've not pushed XLR8 any more than PMing him for updates. We've tried to find some alternatives for some time now and this is the first time that we've had a vendor take point and own it, and that's why I've been hanging in there.

On a side note, I noticed some increase in wheel hop last week and checked out the front mount and the bushings were finally starting to give. These are the 3rd gen Innovative mounts that have held up for 1 yr. That makes them the longest surviving mounts to date. I could deal with replacing the bushings every once and awhile, but that's only part of the problem. The rear OEM mount I installed 11 months ago is also giving out.

We're all in the same sorry old leaking boat. It's a shame Acura didn't address these crappy mounts and left it to their customers - maybe ex-customers - to live with it. They're just sticking their heads in the sand saying that it's those modding guys with all the problems. We'll it's not, little old ladies are having problems too. This is no joke as I've replaced mounts on a friend's mother's TL. There are a some of us that can replace these on our own, but it's still a time and money pit. And even more so for those that have to pay to have them installed.

I have spent a lot of time trying different mount designs and believe that it is a bigger challenge than even Acura could resolve. And probably why Acura never came out with their own solution. We need a long term fix to this problem and XLR8 has committed to having a quality product made for him that he will then stand behind. We didn't have that with Innovative. It really stinks having to wait and nurse our cars until we get something, but I don't see anyone else lining up to offer us a solution.

oh . . by the way, no offense taken on any of the comments made. Anyone not familar with the long history here is just as frustrated as any of us. Oh hell, let's be honest here . . . we're all just really pissed over these OEM mounts. scream:

there . . I feel better now.

Guys, can someone please explain what the vacuum tube/nipple is for in the mounts? My mechanic left mine out and I don't know if it is worth having him take it apart again?

The way it was explained to me is that as you step on the gas that vacuum pulls air out of the mount making it stiffer. So if you have OEM mounts they should be hooked up, otherwise they should be plugged.

WRONG, when you go WOT, you want a stiffer mount, but you got no vaccum to so called stiffen them up

it is actually they are stiff when no vacuum is applied , then when you apply vacuum, it pulls the mount down ever so slightly, which basically makes it act softer then it actually is

also any updates on the mounts, i think one of mine is just starting to go out after 106k, you can feel a ever so slight vibration through the cabin (especially near my feet)

Interesting... It's sounds to me then that if you with OEM, leaving the vacuum line disconnected will "act" as a little stiffer mount all around, at least at lower speeds. You just cap the end that would normally attach to the mount? (I'm going to go the poly-filled oem route for now.)

okay, I got it reversed . . damn old age playing with my memory.

as for the mounts, the testing by the vendor is going well and the only potential comment of question is that there is a slight vibration, but to be honest I would be shocked if there was none, so we'll just have to wait and see. So I'm expecting a field test will happen soon . . I hope or I might forget how to install them.

turning half a century old this year :shakehead

and if it is my motor mount going out (gotta check it during my next oil change), i know it is just going to get worse as time goes on, so even if the new mounts have a little vibration i would be fine with it, and i know it would not get worse with them ethier
