High Beam question

Ive been reading posts about changing the high beam bulbs and i had a question. Should i get 65w or 100w? I want to know if 100w is to strong? or would 65w be a safer choice to go with.

Thanks
Ahmad

I would not go any higher then what the manual specifies which I believe is 65watts. Anything over that probably isn't safe. If you're looking for more light, get the PIAA Superwhite's or something similar that's a 65watt bulb which puts out the power of 100w bulb......

I say get the bulbs that only takes 65W but puts out 100W. But I guess it doesnt matter. I mean, its not like you use the high beams alot. I can say i only use it for maybe 5 secs in a month.

Im not really worried about how bright they are since they dont get used that much. I just cant stand the factory high's and want something that matches the low beams better.

Ahmad - I'd stay away from true 100w 9005's. The wiring harness was not engineered to handle the current drain they'll suck up. Even for short periods.

Like stated before, PIAA platinum superwhites are as good as you can get for a match (in a 65w flavor.)

I personally don't a give a rat's ass what they look like, as I very rarely use them. I ended up putting in some cheap generic ($30) 65w bulbs for the "blue housing effect when off." Looks great, but when you do try and use them for what they're intended, they're useless.

Thanks for the help...I picked up a set of Cool Blue in 65w for now..and just put them in...they dont match the lows at all but they are much better than the factory highs.

yes those are the same bulbs. They have very little blue tint to them and when they are on the beam is white. In the houseing they barely give off any blue effect
