I'm in the process of replacing my driverside ignitor. And I can't find it on the car! I took out the headlight, I took out the bulb, and the ballast. And I can't find the ignitor, where the hell is it.

I have an Acura CL ignitor:



And I can't find it to replace it!

 

the ignitor is on the bottom of the headlight man..

 

The ballast is on the bottom of the headlight, but there is no place for the ignitor at all.

Is the ignitor the bulb harness, that holds the bulb?

 

We popped off both headlights, and there isn't anything that looks like that on either headlight, so I'm not sure whats going on here. Thanks.

 

Thats not a CL igniter. The CL has a one piece ballast igniter combo. You can't just buy the igniter for the CL. That might be a igniter for the TL but im not sure.

Looks like you got a universal plug-in. Ebay maybe? Ignitors aren't cheap either.

i think its possible to open the ballast to replace the ignitor, but its probly easier to just cut off the old ignitor and splice in the new one. remember to solder and use a couple layers of heat shrink wrap, and to replace the ballast gasket or you will ruin it again along with the bulb.

 

Why was my other thread closed? CL-S 6MT still hasn't issued me a refund yet.
