Got my CLS yesterday!!

Just saying HI!

Got it yesterday brand new! (500 miles on it)
it's a Black CLS 6sp.

I used to drive a Toyota Soarer GT and a RX-7 R1 so for me it was a BIG drop in speed, but a BIG increase in refinement. Very happy with car!

Anyhow, just dropping by to say hi!

Here are pics of my Soarer (almost sold)

Congrats, that's a rare find, a new 6 speed, and good choice. I've had 2 6 speeds and love em. My latest one has 9000 miles now.
welcome.

did you import that soarer here? Kinda cool to see a right hand drive SC. How much would those go for here?

i'm selling mine for 13k. But i think they go for a lil more. Mine is US legal and has Volks which i'm giving away with the car cuz the CL can't take it. Volks are only 2 months old too!!

But the funny story is this:

I was going to buy a Mazda6 cuz it was more economical. 22k or so. Anyhow i was thinking the only thing in Acura for around that price is a RSX and for that much money i better get a bigger car than that. I decided to pass by anyway just to give myself more options than the Mazda6. So i talk to the salesman and he is showing me the RSX. Then he says the magic words... "Well that CL TypeS is 6 speed, and i think i can swing it for under 26k"

The rest is history.

Good investment is to get a sub / amp or a Basslink. Makes a huge diff in sound quality.

a HELLUVALOT faster.

I only did full exhaust and tuned the SAFC myself on the dyno and the car is auto.

14.03 @ 103mph with a crappy ass 2.3 60' time.

The secret...
They come stock with twin turbos

with stock exhaust it did 14.3 @ 98 and put down about 250rwhp with 280 lbtq. after AFC tuning. Haven't dynoed since.

what's a Basslink? and how hard is the install.

BTW...
should i change the headunit? I dunno if i can live with regular CD players cuz the Soarer had a MP3 player. Only problem is that I don't want the radio to look retarded! I keep hearing about the Metra kit, but i have not seen pics of just the kit installed in a car. And yes i did the search. Does it look ok?

I just bought a basslink so ill try and field this one for you.

A basslink is a powered sub that you can add to your existing bose system. To my knowledge, Infiniti is the only option thus far and it is available as a 200 watt powered 10".

You can find them on ebay brand new for under 200 altough circuit city currently sells them for $369. Mine is scheduled to arrive by mail this tuesday so i dont know what to expect really. Everyone seems to have good things to say if your looking to have all around good quality sound. If you want the neighbors to hear you down the street, not the option for you, otherwise, its supposed to be a great mod. I will soon know for sure.

It is a very easy install however. Since the bose amp is located in the trunk, all you need to do is splice into it to pull your signal. The only real pain is running the power wire from the engine. If its something you decide to look into. Search "baselink" on this site. You will find all sorts of threads demostrating the relativly friendly install

Awesome!! I think that may be the best price for a new 6-speed yet.
