Ok, I was on the road last night around 11:30pm East-West Highway when I saw these blue halogens come speeding up on my bumper then slow down. I looked over and there was a mid-early 90s civic hatchback. We get to the light and both of us are looking at each others car but I decided to chill since my girl was with me and I wanted to see what was up with the civic. He had a big ass fart can in the back where you can see the whole muffler, and it was slammed hard with racing wheels. We pull up to the next light and we are both getting into racing positions and I am thinking should i race this guy or not something doesn't seem right. We take off and I not trying speed then my girl was like "burn dude!" cool, I get the approval from my chick and we are off. I am in SS and 2nd gear and I go all out WOT, dude is about a car 1/2 back, and then he shifts, his car jumps forward ALOT!, and I hit 3rd gear, he's now hitting 3rd gear He pulls again. AT this point I am WOTing the hell out of 3rd and to my surprise the civic and I are neck and neck. I was like my girl was like . Dude never passed me and I never pulled anymore after 3rd gear. We were even and that was my first time triple digit racing. We stopped at a redlight and I had to make a left, he looked like he wanted to chat but I had to make my turn. That was off the hook, I never raced someone and was side by side the whole time throughout 3rd gear and some of 4th. I NEED HEADERS, this would have never happened :'( .

 

Civic hatch's r tricky. Ive learned this many times. If u check out www.honda-tech.com there r a LOT of fast civic hatchs, some runnin 10s street. They r the body of choice when goin with a swap. A b18c1 with a nice little t3/t4 would be a very sleeper honduh Even a hatch with a b16 r quick even better with a b18c5. Wow, your cars r real heavy. Anyone think about converting thier cls to a full race car? gutted interior and all?

 

Good raced!!! Now this days you think twice when racing a honda civic hatchback.. That's why I loved my lil booger under my sig..

 

that happened to me at the track a little early like 91 crx with an si motor with i/e/h and some gutted interior and we were neck and neck i was like why can't i pull on this fucker......then i looked down and the A/C was on....so about 3 runs later we went again and this time i beat him but by only .2 or .3 seconds. quick little fuckers. my friend is selling his hatch on ebay, 92 or 93 hatch with a fully built gsr, he runs high 12's

 

Yeah, they are real easy to mod. All you need to do is take a civic hatch, throw in a gsr motor,exaust, intake and you've got urself a car that does the 1/4 in around 14.0-14.4

 

All i know is that this dudes car was fast. It look like $hit but it was fast. I am going to stop playing with civics as for i don't know what the hell I am up against. It's hard because around MD there are alot of Ricers that just like fart cans and stickers and no go fast mods. Then you got those who are serious but they too have fart cans. Well, time to go supercharged. The way we were neck and neck, if I had headers he would have been a car or more back. Looking at his facial expression, he probably thought he had me in the bag. I should have dumped my girlfriend off and had at dude. I had her extra 120 pounds.

 

Next time you line up tell the kid that its still just a Civic...

Same shit happened to me a few months ago. I was side by side with some ugly ass looking civic hatch with gutted interior. My wife was in the car with me and he was by himself. We both took off and he was slowly pulling away. I couldn't believe it. So he slowed down and I got a chance to ask him what he got under the hood. Turns out he did an engine swap (gsr motor). Oh well at least the dude was cool.

 

Get headers and watch that Civic go bye bye.

my buddy has a 91 hatch back w/ a type R motor and I/H/E v-afc .

 

Aren't those fun? A close friend of mine has a white 95 hatchback with a rebuilt motor, totally stock looking. Last time he ran he hit 12.9. Its funny when we go out looking for Z28's, those are his favorite. Just for kicks his license plate frame says "all stock."

Nova - It was a red hatch, with oz racing wheels i think. But his was slammed to the point you didn't see the top of his tires. He had no indications or stickers (hard to believe) on his car to show he has something under the hood. Thats what caught me off guard. The ricers around here have a million stickers on their car, and he didn't. Not even tints on his windows. Just the fart can.

 

Hey was he asian or what? Cause i know a kid who has 95 red hatch,with b18c enigine, greddy exhaust, and its slammed, and he is asian, hes also has turbo, that he is putting in like a month or so.

 

NOPE! And thats another thing that caught me off guard. He was black. I don't know many guys (black) that hook up civics.

My sons CRX does twelves,all motor and looks pretty mild on the outside,but pulls to 9500 RPM on the inside.SEEYA!!!

 

actually i disagree the fact that FOBs are the ones with stickers and autos... in my area.. its the other way around... all the FOBs here are rich ass with supped up cars.. the look like a typical car on the outside but they all have alot of shit under the hood... whereas you see CBCs etc... they are the ones with stickers, decals... big wings and exhaust that make them "look" fast...
