Compatible Engine Swaps

I've seen swaps from the J32A3 to a variation of the J35, like the J35Z3. Has anyone performed or seen a swap to the newer J35Y-series? Has anyone swapped a J37? I'm guessing it wouldn't fit.

They won't "fit" because the transmission won't really line up since they are designed for different transmissions vs the 6MT you'd want to swap in.

The 3.7 SH-AWD TL's engine would be great to swap but it's got oil consumption issues.

It's much easier to build a 3.5 or 3.6L engine from the ground up using honda and aftermarket parts that'll make close to the same amount of power as the J37 if not more.

06 acura tl base 3.7 swap

i have a 06 acura tl and i removed the stock 3.2 and installed a j37a4 motor and changed only the front cam gear and the backing plate because the cam sensor is different also i put the crank sensor from the 3.2 on the front of the motor "the 3.7 does not have the crank sensor in this location" on the cats i did not buy new ones i ground down the outside of the top of the flange so the top studs would clear the outside just a little and used big washers to hold the top part of the cats on the opening is the same size only the bolt pattern is different ,connected the harness on the injectors i used the ones from the 3.2 because the connectors were not the same .it started on the first try. not done yet though small bugs to work out. but it runs and drives.

Been wondering if someone will adapt a 2017 Accord 6MT to a J35Y. Not for a 3G TL, but for 1G TLX. Found a trans from a wrecked car, but would still need ecu, shifter, linkage, etc.
