I still love my TSX, it is a fantastic car.

This is what they did this time:

10383 Perform fix #1 from Techline, remove front seat mounting bolts and retighten, road test, still hear some noise, perform fix #2 remove seat, apply wool felt to seat base contact points. Re install seat, road test, noise gone.

Hmmm I wonder what fix #3 will be? Hopefully I won't need it. I am going on a long road trip with some of it on twisty roads. I have my fingers crossed that the noise will stay away for the whole trip.

Well they did the fix on May 18th and this is June 6th and still no sign of a squeak. Fix #2 seems to be the answer.

Unhappy

Had my car in for the third time. First time they replaced the entire seat base, that was before the TSB came out. Second and third time they went by the US TSB, but both times the creak came back after just a few days. Will be taking my car in for a fourth time tomorrow, this time they are going to try the Canadian TSB (hope they can find it). Fingers crossed.

The TSB directs them to adjust the track initially and only if problem persists to strike the floorpan with the hammer. In my case, they performed the adjustment and it has been effective for the past week but I'm expecting it to reappear based on this reports in this thread...

I actually just noticed recently that my squeak has gone away as it had gotten hot outside. This is without any "fix" from the dealer.

If only the rattle/ticking would go away in the passenger seat as well...

i'm aware of the tsb that is currently available.

does anyone's seat squeak from the lumbar support? mine is squeaking from the left lumber, right where the lumbar switch is. i know this because when i stick my fingers into the lumber cushion, the squeaking stops.

aside from ripping the entire left lumbar support, i've been trying to think of a way to remedy this issue. stuffing fabric between the squeaking areas, wd-40, etc...

i am bringing in my car today to the dealership to have this issue checked out. I am not sure which side the seat squeaks in but i know it has to do with the lumbar support. Ill post an update when i get it back.

my seat had this same issue - just took it into the dealership and had it fixed. They said it was a known issue when I called in, and it only took an afternoon for them to fix.

My 06 TSX started to squeak with about 2300 miles on the odometer.

I just took it to the dealer to have it taken care of.

A couple of hours later they told me that it was done and that they had to modify the floor pan. I asked if that meant taking a hammer to it, and the service guy said yeah.

I hope this takes care of it.

Acura is posting a new TSB on September 1 addressing the issue; it essentially requires repostioning the bolts and gluing a piece of carpet if needed where the seat rails rub on the floor. The TSB is # 06-018. I have a copy in pdf version; I cant seem to figure out how to post it here.

Talking 4th time is a charm

After taking in my '06 TSX three times before, twice using the instructions of the initial US TSB, I still had the squeek. The fourth time they went with the Canadian TSB, and installed the felt. Bingo!! After 4 weeks, still no squeek. I think they nailed it this time. Which gives me reason to believe that the new US TSB mentioning some carpet will do the trick as well.

Silence is a beautiful thing....

Looks like I have this problem on 07 TSX. I can't get this TSB from alldata web site, looks like it isn't available anymore. Here what website says:
Unfortunately, information for Honda, Acura and BMW is not available to consumers through ALLDATA DIY by request of the manufacturers.
Can somebody send me pdf version of this TSB or post it on this site?
Thanks

just take it to the dealer

My 2006 started sqeaking shortly after I bought it. Every time I twisted in my seat it squeaked. The squeak was coming from the front/right mounting bolt. They replaced the entire base and it works fine. Done under warranty.

I had the same problem. Checked out this post. Called the dealership and told him about my problem and what I read here. He got me in 15min. Got my car 1hour later and the squeek was gone. The guy told me that its a routine thing now.

I'm not even going to waste my time if its gonna take them 3 or 4 trips to get it right, and nobody is taking a hammer to my car thanks. Maybe they will come up with a better fix as time goes on.

Damnit I spoke too Soon. It came back after 2 days but even worse.

I took it back to my original dealer and they had to order a entire rail replacement. I got it back and the squeek was gone but for only 4 days. Then it started to come back. A little here, and a littler there. Now its getting progressively worse. WTF.

But my passenger seat is fine all this time. Going to take it back in for my next oil change. Can't wait to see what they do.

wipers!

Oh yeah, my factory wiper blades stunk. They chattered alot after just a few months. I went back to Acura of Seattle and the parts guy didn't know how to install them. He just handed them to me to figure out. The refills didn't work past one week. I ended up getting a new entire blade. I suggest that as the only solution. Skip the refills on the TSX.

Had my creaky (I wouldn't say squeaky) seat attended to via the afformentioned TSB. The problem was gone for a whole day. Then the seat started clicking in and out of place. Now it's completely loose. This is ridiculous.

Taking it in tomorrow. Will let you know what happens.

Any more fun stories re: squeaking driver seats?

I've had my car for almost a year now and this is really the only item on my shit list so far. Seems like most people's cars have this problem but I still haven't seen a recall or anything.

Maybe from a week ago, when I make a turn, my driver seat generate sounds like squeaking. I've tried to suck it up, but it's really annoying. Are there anybody having a same problem or tips for fix?
Thanks and Happy Holidays.
Had the same problem with my 06 TSX. I found a service bulletin for it somewhere on the web. Took it to the dealer and they fixed the problem. Haven't had it since.

hmmm, everyone is talking about how their driver seat is squeaking, but my passenger front seat is squeaking . My tsx is 6 months old at 6k miles. I'm not too much bothered with it because it's the passenger but when I do have a passenger, it gets pretty annoying.....Anyone else have the passenger seat squeaking?

Angry Squeaking continues....

When I took my tsx 05 for maintence I informed them of the squeaking sound from the driver seat. Nothing was done and they told me they couldn't hear anything. I hear it really well when ever I move around or go over a bump. I need to take it back soon.

Took them 3 times, first they readjust the seat, second, took the seat out and lubricate the track. Finally they took a new seat from other and replace it. No problem so far, it has been a year already.

Make sure the dealer is referring to the updated TSB:

http://photos.imageevent.com/astrobo...sb/B06-018.pdf

This was a nightmare problem for me, as it took several trips to the dealer to finally get rid of the squeaking. Every time I went to the dealer I mentioned the TSB and even printed it out a few times. They always assured me the TSB was performed, but the squeaking came back.

I finally took the seat out myself, and found out they never even tried it! Also, they torqued the bolts to over 3 times the correct amount.

I followed the directions and did it myself, used felt pads instead of carpet.
No squeaking since, and that was a year ago.

I also met with the district service manager and got them to replace my entire drivers seat (so many trips to dealer caused the techs to scratch plastic trim and tear the leather)

i had the same issue last year with my 06 TSX. it was annoying the hell out of me so i took it to the dealer and they put some kind of felt padding material to stop the friction... haven't had any issues since.

I've had mine in twice for the seat. It's been 3 weeks or so since they last fixed it and everything seems ok with it. They did both the TSB and tightened everything in the frame. Tech said some "things" were loose.....

I purchased my RDX at 16,000 miles in Dec. 2018. The squeak in driver's seat (upper back where almost where my shoulder is) started in 2019 at just under 20,000 miles. I didn't know the car had entered service (began a lease) in summer 2015, so when I purchased it, it was already out of warranty. Customer service will not allow me to file a claim (because they say I'm not a long standing customer - how are you supposed to be one when you just bought the car?). The cost to repair is over $1700. That's for the squeaky seat back. But there's a different kind of squeak coming from the seat base also. I don't know what the estimate on that will be.
