has anyone had any problems with their stock alarm system? i tried setting it off this weekend: before i got out of the car, i opened window, got out of car, armed it from fob, manually unlocked it and opened door. no alarm. my dad tried this on my mom's new tl and by doing this he set off the alarm. any comments or suggestions. thanks guys!

 

I've tested mine when I first got the car and it works. But I didnt have the window open. I just sat in the car and armed the alarm. Then manually unlocked the door and opened it, and the alarm went off.

 

Give it 30 seconds to set before you try to set it off - that is what my service advisors told me.

 

its true it takes about a min

 

my alarm (on my gs-r and s2000 (now my brother's)) tells you when it's armed... by either a beep or a flash of the lights... until that point it is not armed. does the tsx not have the same mechanism? note: both gs-r and s2000 are factory alarms.

try pushing lock twice till the horn beeps...then wait a min...works for me
