When should you flush the trans. fluid?

I know the manual say's 120,000 Miles. But do you think it's necessary to flush the Tranny before that, or would that be a waste of my time?
I was planning on flushing it at 100,000 but after reading the manual, I was thinking of waiting...

Most do change long before 120K. The 06 and later models with the maintenance minder will call for a change when necessary (it was indicated at around 85K miles on my wife's 07 for instance). You may want to do a search, there's quite a bit written on the subject here.

totally.

The first time you do it, make sure you do it 3x3. Then, drain/fill once every 30k.

This seems to be about the consensus considering what I've read and heard (except of course for the "change the oil and filter every 3K miles" crowd). Although it took a while for me to get on board (I'm old enough to remember when you actually did have to change your oil and filter every 3K mlies), I realize that drivetrain engineering and lubricant technology have both progressed enough to allow for considerably extended fluid replacement intervals. Anyone can change any hydraulic fluid as often as they like, but.... perhaps we shouldn't confuse "feel good" maintenance with what's actually required to allow for maximum service life of an item or system using said fluid.
