i get around 25-26 MPG and roughly 350-360 miles a tank. I usually fill up after my range reaches below ~10 miles.

Now that gas skyrocketed up to $3.60 (from $3.09), I think I should fill up every half a tank to avoid paying the next bump in gas...

According to my MID, 24.9 mpg, so I'd say around 22-23mpg, mixed.

I have a 2006 6-Speed. I get 27.5 MPG consistently. I drive 100 miles a day...90% highway (Avg. 80 MPH). Speed matters! The last tank of gas, I limited my top speed to about 70 MPH. I averaged 31.5 MPG on that tank.

I think it's time for some tune-up, 17/16 sounds lower than it should be even with little aggressive driving...

Hmm....
I typically get around 23 or 24 with about 60% city driving.

On my home from picking up my car, me and my dad switched off driving a couple of times....we both were going about 80 and the beast got about 33 or 34. Now when I go 80 I probably am only get about 28, 29....30 on a good day maybe.

Here is a graph of my MPG since the day I bought the car. I purchased the car on January 30, 2006. I have averaged 26.18 MPG. The average price per gallon of gas over the course of these 2 years, $2.68.

Edit: This data is for a 2006 automatic.

2005/6 speed manual
In 29,000 miles (111 fill-ups), I have averaged a bit over 26 mpg in mostly city driving. On highway driving it is usually over 30 mpg. The absolute lowest is about 18 mpg and the highest is a bit over 33 mpg.
The overall fuel cost is about 11 cents a mile. I use premium fuel. I would describe my driving as average-to-conservative.

I know this is somewhat unrelated....somewhat not, but since it's about gas, I thought I would mention.

If the idtec engine comes out on the 2009, I'd be wary to buy one even if it did have great gas mileage.

Has anyone's else diesel in the area they live gone up astonomically recently??

Regular = ~$3.15
Premium= ~$3.35
Diesel= ~$3.70-$3.75!!!!

Diesel is $3.95 where I am

I get about 26mpg mixed, and 32ish on the freeway if I cruise around 75mph. I've gotten up to 36 before but I was really trying hard for that.

I get approx. 28 mpg in my 2007, but I averaged 30 mpg in my 2005. How you drive counts for a lot in this car, because I gave my daughter the 2005 and she now averages 24 mpg.

Wow....I didn't realize it got worse! I remeber it was just about a year ago that while people were complaining about the rising gas prices, there would be those devils advocates that would make the lame (but valid) point that places like the UK pay over $5 a gallon for gasoline.

A year later....WE'RE PRETTY DAMN CLOSE!!!!

And what I don't understand is why diesel is so much more expensive!!! It's a lower grade quality fuel than regular gasoline is. Did I miss the boat on this one?

It is because fuel companies have grown the wiser that Diesel is becoming more popular. They can considerably raise the price of diesel fuel and still match the supply and demand for it without losing profit.

Dude, I've dropped $1.2CAN/L for premium (91)
A full 65L tank would cost $78CAN to fill.

I get around 25-28 MPG a tank. Last time I filled up (which was a least a week ago) it was $55. I've been seriously thinking about trading my TSX in for a hybrid, but I know I'd really miss the TSX. Very tough decision.

I know how you are feeling on Hawaii. My folks have a timeshare out there, and they've taken me and my sis several times. Gas out there is crazy. I knew it would be expensive out there. Premium hear in Houston is around 3.3? to 3.4?

When my tank is running on fumes, it cost about $50-$55 to fill up. It's insane. I remember when gas was 89 cents for premium, and I'm only now just about to turn 18. I've said for a while, they should drill to the max in Alaska, but we've got those conservationist that gotta foul up every thing (nothing personal against any connservationist on this forum....it's just my views).

It's more expensive because the refineries here aren't equipped to produce a lot of diesel, whereas in Europe, their production is pretty much already maxed out for diesel. Diesel in Europe is cheaper than regular gas. Here in the US it costs more then premium. In addition, it takes years for refineries to re-tool production to make more diesel. It is not as easy as flipping a switch, like many people would like to believe. It would be easier if we could build more refineries to handle the capacity, but a) no one wants one in their backyard and b) they cost billions of dollars to build.

So, as much as I'd love a diesel for my next vehicle, I'm really going to have to weigh the price differences. To me, it's not all about saving money (although that would be nice)....I would, however, like to use less energy, which is where diesel looks good.

One more thing: the government is trying to push ocean liners to use the low sulfur diesel as well, and if they do push that through, can you imagine how much less diesel fuel will be available to the rest of the world? Those enormous boats use A FREAKING TON of fuel!!

I'm definitely feeling you on that one. There is a lot of gas mileage to be had with diesel, but the way prices or going....who knows....it may be twice as much someday because of things like ocean liners. And the sad thing is, there is not much we can do about it. They will just keep using it up causing all that wonderful supply to deplete, leaving those arabs with that poop eating grin on their face because they can continue to jack up the prices.

you guys are getting pretty decent mileage. i usually get around 250 a tank (auto) but i only drive 4 miles one way to work and it's constant stop and go, so....i am hoping it improves when the temps start to rise.

and diesel is $4.19 here....blah
