What kind of gas mileage are you getting?

Just filled up this morning. Another tank of 33 MPG! This tank made it to 435 miles before the indicator light came on (probably b/c of me "truly" filling the tank). If it wasn't for location, I would have broken the 500 mile barrier with ease.

I just got back from a trip from NYC to Washington DC. I hardly ever do highway driving so I was curious about my mileage. I filled up just as I came out of the Holland Tunnel, when I got off the highway in Wash DC and again before the tunnel.
I was shocked but I got 32.9 mpg on the way down and 34.8 on the way back.
Using Premium Gas (first for that).
I re-checked my numbers and they are accurate:
To DC; 234 miles and used 7.129 Gallons
From DC; 248 Miles and used 7.127 Gallons
I had been thinking of getting a Honda Fit to save gas but who needs it!

Just took a spur of the moment day trip to DC this weekend, from Philly. 155 miles each way. Got back to Philly w/o having to fill up and I had probably 50 miles of mixed driving for a day's commute on the tank already. Car MPG maxed out at about 33.5, meaning I probably got close to 32MPG on the highway. The tank got about over 30.5mpg total after filling up today, that includes a good 50-75 miles of non-highway driving.
Got gas and the light had been on for a bit, guage pointing straight down, the car only took about 14 gallons after topping off! The "range" on the MID said 6 miles when I pulled in. While that sucks the light comes on so early, as you know less gallons used at a fill up, the better the MPG. The light still comes on very early on mostly highway miles as well.
Very happy with the milage I'm getting on the highway with my TSX!

Here are my numbers from two recent trips from Miami to Tampa and back two times, and with a quick 30-45 minute drive to visit mi abuela (grandma) during the time in Tampa.
2008 5AT now 3670 at last fill up. Always get gas from BP/Chevron/Exxon/Shell. Haven't noticed any difference yet but havent really had enough time to test brands.
Trip 1: 80%hwy/20% city 376 miles since last fill
MID: 28.2
Fuelgov: 26.6
Gas when filled: 14.1 gal
Trip 2: 70% hwy/30% city 357 miles since last fill
MID: 26.2
Fuelgov: 24.7
gas when filled: 14.5 gal

Works out to ~23 MPG.
Have you ever actually pumped in 60L's?
No matter how far below E the needle goes I've never pumped in more than 56L. Usually about 55-55.5.

Want to talk about getting gouged? We're paying 5.19 per gallon for premium up here and $4.75 for reg. You guys have it GOOD.

Regular in Montreal, QC, today is around $1.38 / litre... works out to $ 5.20 per USGAL.
Premium is at $ 1.45 / litre or $ 5.48 per USGAL
and the minimum price set by the 'Energy Board' (Regie d'Energie) in Quebec has it going up again for next week....

BTW... I checked the dash when my 2nd cousin came in from the burbs to the city and he got 23mpg... WHILE HAVING AN AVERAGE SPEED OF 15 MPH. Took him about 2 hours to travel 40 miles or something. I think thats pretty good in stop and go traffic.
On open highway I expect alot more.

Just made it from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Key West and back on 1 tank of gas.
Total miles for the trip were 390.2. According to the MID, I was at 29.5 mpg and this is with me averaging about 80 mph (though there were several times where I was btw 90-100 mph) and with a full hour where I drove exactly 10 miles so without that delay, my numbers would be even better. According to fueleconomy.gov, my mpg was 27.5, so exactly 2 mpg off.
Oh this is in a 2008 TSX 5AT, who now needs her first oil change. I'm at 4373 miles.

Make a hole, coming thru!
When I measure just highway driving, my 2006 5AT MID reports that I get ~ 35 MPG; corrected for the odometer error, it appears I get 34 MPG at 65 MPH. But lately, with a lot of shopping and errands, my fuel fill-up calculated mileage has been around 26.5 MPG. ![Annoyed](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/annoyed.gif)
With premium Shell up around $4.12 (depending on the station), I topped off with 89 (Shell) today. Hopefully my Shell car rebates will help me justify using the top-shelf stuff.

2005 TSX 6MT/Nav
Total driven as of 5/22/2008: 48780 miles (65% City/ 35% Highway)
Total fuel: 1917 gallons.
Overall Average mileage: 25.45 miles/gallon.
Lowest mileage/tank: ~22 mpg.
Highest mileage/tank: ~34 mpg.
Overall average mpg for first 32.5K miles (Stock Michelin tires) vs. average for last 16K miles with Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS (inflated ~1-2 lbs over tire placard) is virtually identical.
All numbers computed and not based on trip computer which seems to over-estimate by a mile or two per gallon.

I'm getting about 25.5 mpg (70 city: 30 hwy)
Best I've averaged was on a trip to the Maritimes last summer - with the car loaded up with my wife and 2 kids, AC cranked, luggage and a Thule box - I avged 32.8 mpg

I need to correct my tires. I've never even checked until today.
My two fronts are at 32 but my rear are off. Left is at 33 and right is at 34. Both in the rear should be at 30, right?
Or should I make them all 32? Or 34 in the front and 32 in the back? I want a smooth but of course, most gas efficient setup.

YMMV, and almost assuredly the advantages vary from one tire brand/model to the next (I've got Nexens).

I drove out to Indianapolis for the 500 this weekend. Got a little over 37 mpg on the highway. This was offset terribly by the approximately 7 mpg I got while puttering through a grand total of 5 hours of barely moving race traffic. Boo.
04 6mt. 35 psi all around in my Falken ZE-912s. Generally I was cruising around 70 due to the extremely high density of the LEO along I70.
These numbers are what I generally average on long highway trips. In my typical 95% suburban driving I get between 22 and 24 in the summer and 18 to 21 in the winter with snow tires and steelies plus crap winter gas. Yay summer!

Only have 1200 miles on the car but I just took a trip from San Antonio to Lubbock and was very impressed.
The computer read 34.6 MPGs but I hand calculated it and 355 miles/10.5 gallons= 33.8 MPGs. I was pleasently surprised, I was hoping for 30 or 31. This tirp included a lot of hills and If i remember right my avg speed was around 75mph.
Prior to this trip i was getting 26 mpgs mixed driving.

Lets assume you used 55L to get those 552km. (Filled up 55L).
55 L = 14.53 Gallons and 552km = 343 miles.
343/14.53 = 23.5
Unless you were talking Canadian MPG which is 28 or you filled up less than 55L.

Had to bump this up after my trip this weekend, I went down to Charlottesville VA from Philly, and achieved ~35MPG on the way home.
I read that the Shell Vpower is so much better, I was pretty skeptical but Shell was about the same price as the other stations around(here near work it is about .15 more/gallon than what I can get it for on the way home), so I filled it up a few miles north of Cville, where it was actually CHEAPER than gas in NJ!!!
To be fair I was not hauling ass, sitting at 70/72 most of the time on I-95 between DC and Philly. Also there is a stretch on US29 that the speed limit is only 60 so I was cruising along at 64/65(cops love to sit on 29), fun little road till you start to get 20-30 miles from I-66.
But between some non-crazy aggresive driving and V-power, I was amazed I got about 35mpg.
I do say "about" because the MID said 36.9MPG when I got home, and I have found it ALWAYS runs about 1-1.5MPG high, I don't know why it would be any different this time around. Haven't gotten gas quite yet, I wanna keep using this Vpower and see if my commute in a couple days is shorter. But I definetly didn't even use half a tank for the ride home
The "range" on the MID frequently added up to 500 miles+, all highway like that I could easily get 500+ miles on a tank.
