Problems w/ the clock on the Navi.
I posted this on the "Audio and Electronics" forum, but this forum moves much faster. Pls help!!
I just got my TSX today!!
But when the sales guy was going over all the specs, I noticed the clock in the Navi is different from clock on the dash. The technicians cant figure out the problem.
I read the Navi might take a few hrs to "pinpoint" me. Since the clock is controled by GPS it might be that.
Any of you guys experience this?

there is a clock in the navi? wierd i never noticed, but i know for a fact it adjusts to the timezone your in if you cross a time zone. it takes a little while to change but it will eventually
I remember reading somewhere that if the GPS needs to pinpoint where you are (and its really off), then you need to keep the car on in the same place for 10-45 minutes. (or something crazy like that)
Can you tell which one is the right time?

Pls help!!!!!!! Thanks!
There is an option to set the clock (in the dash) via the GPS, keeping them not only sync'd, but very accurate, due to the precision of time of the GPS.
I don't have my manual handy, but look inside the Navigation System manual for "Auto Clock Set" or something like that. That should fix your problem!

I've had it be off by like 2 blocks before and it corrected itself after a minute while I drove.

The owner's manual describes how to do this. Well, specifically the Navi Guide.

It sounds like you need to resynch the GPS. For some reason (esp. the 45 min being off) it sounds GPS related.

Actually the Acura tech diconnected the battery to reset everything, wouldnt that resync it?
Ok I checked and apparently the procedure is only in the Service Guide and not the Navi guide.
1. First check what is displayed in the GPS Offset Time screen:
a. Turn ignition switch ON (position II).
b. Hold down MENU and ZOOM OUT (since your battery was disconnected this is the recommended keypress). If that combination does not take you to a Diagnosis Item menu the press MENU, MAP/GUIDE, and CANCEL for 5 seconds.
c. Choose GPS Information
d. Choose GPS Offest Time
e. See if the time is somehow being offset here.
DO NOT use any of the DATE HOUR or MINUTE or SET keys here. Check local time vs Disp. Time. Is one or the other off or are they the same?
Also note (per 22-318) that the GPS cannot detect the vehicle position for as long as 45 minutes after the battery is reconnected.
Make sure there are no items on the back shelf.
When the battery is disconnected the GPS internal clock will reset to 0:00. The clock will reset the correct time after the system finished GPS initialization (22-319). During initialization the vehicle has to be parked in an open area for the car to pick up GPS signals.
If after all this the time is still off then you probably have a defective navi unit or the time was changed in Setup Screen #2.
