The Energy Information Agency, part of the U.S. government, keeps data on gas and diesel prices. Here's where you can go to get the latest information - https://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/
I feel like it's been since the late 90's or early 00's since we've seen this but who remembers when the gas tiers were 10 cents apart? The gap between Regular and Premium was always 30 cents. I realize it hasn't been like that in decades, but I think about this often when I fill up.
Not for everyone considering the limited fueling stations who are participating in the offer, but you can get 20¢ off fuel if you're an Amazon Prime member, link your Prime account with BP's earnify rewards app, and fill up on a Friday between Friday, April 3, 2026 and Friday, May 29, 2026 at either a BP, Amoco, AM/PM, or Thorntons location.
What is Fuel Up Friday, and how can I get the 20¢ per gallon offer?
Every Friday from 4/3/26 - 5/29/26 only, Prime members in the U.S. can save a total of 20¢ per gallon at bp, Amoco and participating ampm and Thorntons sites. The 20¢ off per gallon is valid for one time use every Friday from 4/3/26 - 5/29/26 only. An earnify account is free to create and automatically applies 5¢ savings as a baseline offer, 5¢ savings for Prime members, and an additional 10¢ savings during the promotional period to total 20¢ off per gallon during this promotional period. Once the promotional period concludes, Prime members will be able to access a total of 10¢ off a gallon at participating stations. If you haven’t already, simply follow the activation steps to link your Amazon account to bp’s app, earnify. You can then apply the discount at any participating station by simply entering your phone number at the pump or using the earnify™ app.
How can I get the 10¢ per gallon offer outside of Fuel Up Friday?
Prime members in the U.S. can always save a total of 10¢ per gallon at bp, Amoco and participating ampm and Thorntons sites. Amazon and earnify each offer 5¢ a gallon to total 10¢ savings for prime members. This includes all fuel grades with no minimum or maximum gallons required. If you haven’t already, simply follow the activation steps to link your Amazon account to bp’s app, earnify. You can then apply the discount at any participating station by simply entering your phone number at the pump or using the earnify app.
What is the earnify app?
The earnify app is bp’s new fueling app. It can help you locate a participating station to apply the 10¢ per gallon discount. However, it is not mandatory to use the app to get the 10¢ offer. The earnify app simply helps you locate near by participating stations and earn points through earnify that can be used for fuel and convenience store discounts.
With the great Yen rate, we're hovering around $4.60 / gallon. Not bad. It was one of the concessions I knew I had to put up with are high gas prices. But boy the sushi is cheap.
For anyone that uses the circle K app. Your qualifying fill-ups only need to be 5 gallons so if you want you can do the minimum to qualify for the $0.20 discount
Filled up the M5 in Gilbert, AZ on Sunday, March 29, 2026. $5.999 for Premium.
Your stations list premium on the left and regular on the right??? I am so used to seeing 87 - 89 - 93, left to right, lower to higher octane. Interesting!
Gas here has been steady, local Shell still priced at the same. I'm down to 60-something miles so will have to fill up soon.
I completely forgot about this. If you have a Capital One credit card, check to see if you have a CVS offer.
I got a 15% cash back offer, up to $20. I know they have Shell and Chevron gift cards. I did a similar offer (don't remember cash back percentage) back in December and got the cash back credited to my account within a week.
That $5.99/gal Chevron Supreme gas becomes $5.09/gal
Check to make sure the gift card hasn't been tampered with before buying it though. And probably best to use it immediately too.
Just wrapping up vacation this week here in sunny Florida, where I’m seeing around $4.98 for Super and about $4.28 for regular. (Renting a BMW X3 in the Orlando area)
not looking forward to the end of my vacation but, I am looking forward to driving my BMW i4…where gas prices aren’t a thing.
I am starting to be inveigled by harris teeters gift card purchasing offer. You can earn rewards points for buying gift cards and they are usually 2x points. And you can get 4x points if you clip the coupon before you purchase. So basically you go in the store and buy whatever gift cards for places you are going to spend money at. Get the fuel points which max out at .90 per gallon. So essentially, after the strait of hormuz is reopened so the 30 or so tankers per day can start floating through there as they usually do instead of the 8 or 9 per day currently, the barrels of oil will drop. If it gets back down to the 2.30 or so I was starting to see, I will hit that use reward button and it will take .90 off everytime I fill up. Now, if it gets down below 2 dollars per gallon, and then I hit that button, I'm looking at putting 1.10 per gallon. wish me luck hehe

i think i remember that. I definitely remember pretending the dollar meter and the gallon meters were in a race with each other when it was .99 per gallon hehe. It was like a tie. Then i would open up the 4 barrel holley carburetor attached to the top of the 289 liter displaced vee eight engine without motec system exhaust and scorch the tires a little bit as I left the amoco and proceeded to run out of gas a few days later as the gas gauge was faulty.
I think diesel was just under $1 when I started driving [both my HS cars were 80s Mercedes diesels].
I remember pulling into my usual station & the pumps were all taken, pulled up to the diesel pump at the end, clearly meant for big trucks, the nozzle barely fit in the filler, filled up really quickly
