were they big enough that anyone would swap their 05 or 04 for an 06. I would think about it depending on how much I lost.

I think that I would give it a few more years before they have significant changes to make it worth it for me. Besides, I would have to wait a good long time before they make a Hondata for the '06. Even with the increase in hp it is still slightly underpowered for its class.

only things i'm kinda pissed about..."sports steering wheel" and this supposedly enhanced navigation system...what do you guys think about that?
Also, if the engine is really changed like they say it is, why only 5 more horses?

I dont think i would trade in my tsx for another tsx. I kind of think its wasting money.
also, whats is the sports steering wheel? is it smaller wheel, or thicker? and in kind of surpised that acura is already changing their exterior look.

I want the updated navigation, the auxiliary audio jack and the integrated fog lamps. Very interested to SEE the restyled hood and grille, redesigned headlights/tailights, front and rear bumpers and the multi-info display. Don't really care for the upgraded powertrain, colors, memory seats, hands free, or the Enhanced in-glass antennae for improved radio reception.

I myself don't own a TSX yet, but if I already had a '04 or '05 I sure as heck would not worry about trading up to get the 2006 changes. That being said, I really-really-really-really wanted the memory setting for the driver's seat so I'm glad I didn't buy a 2005 last fall!

These are "minor" improvements, not worth losing 3~4 grand over. This estimate assumes the price will remain the same, which it will most definitely NOT.
A hondata reflash for the bumped up HP would definitely be nice but, then again, it won't change 0-60 times significantly.

As silly as it may sound, what makes it tempting is the digital media auxiliary jack located in the center console for the iPod and the 2-position memory for driver’s seat.
I’m 6 feet tall and my fiancé is 5 feet tall. So the memory seat would be real nice, and let’s face it, FM transmitters for the iPod just doesn’t cut it in the city.
The horsepower increase to 205 is crap! Now if the horsepower was increased to 215 or 220 that would be freakin’ awesome. And what’s up with the 164 lbs-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. How is losing 2 lbs-ft of torque for ’06 a good thing? Now if the torque was increased to 170 or 180 lbs-ft at 4500 rpm, then it would be truly tempting.
So would I trade my ’05 in for an ‘06? Taking into consideration the fact that I do not have a money tree in the backyard ( I don’t even have a backyard to have money tree in) along with the fact that I only bought my ’05 in March, the answer is resounding NO.

Horse power went up more then 5hp, but you are looking at the new SAE standard for HP rating. In the old spec it is likely more in line with 215hp or 220hp.
I mean they gave it a bigger cam and larger valves, that puppy's gonna hum...
This happened in the 70's too When power went from SAE gross to net.

I would've thought of trading it in if they would've kept the same body style since I have the Euro R kit. Since their changing the bodystyle my answer will be no, I would'nt trade in my 04. I don't have nav so that would be one of the few things I would love to have if I did trade my 04 for an 06 I will have to wait and see. We are slowly moving away from the JDM Accord I guess?

Not enough changes to make it worth trading in my '04 (and taking a $10,000 hit in trade in). Still some areas still need help (like XID high-beams/foglights, led tails/marker/front blinker), and horses (of courses) . WARNING, whining ahead:
Why didn't they put in a taller 6th gear in the manual, which should improve the highway mpg?

I worry when the new styling is being described as "more aggressive". The world doesn't need another Audi oversized schnozz, a Chrysler 300 manhole cover grille or a Bangle-ized BMW. Those are all touted as being "aggressively" styled. Gag me. One of the TSX's strengths is it's sleek styling. I hope they didn't ruin it.

Here's another one, they didn't mention beefing up the brakes at all (but maybe the did). I hear some current owners say that's a weak point on this car -- relative to its competition. Speaking of brakes, why is Acura touting the EBA (electronic brake assist) as new for the 2006? I am almost certain the 2004 brochure I have mentions this feature -- although it doesn't list it under the features summary at the end of the brochure.

Even if the HP figure IS 220hp under the older HP calc method, I'm pretty sure the change is even more significant than the numbers say. It seems that they may have eliminated the power dip of 04/05 models and may have a more continuous curve all the way to 7000 rpm.
Although I haven't voted, I'm leaning toward trading-in being the better option. If you're satisfied with your 05/04, stay put. If not, you might end up chasing all the enhancements of the 2006 and end up spending more money in the long run with a lower trade-in value.
The same logic could be appied to a friend of mine who owned a 94 Integra LS. He loved the Integra GSR so much, he ended up swapping his motor and buying a bunch of other aftermarket parts when he was better off simply trading in his LS for a GSR. With the stock GSR, he has better reliability, better resale, smog legal, and of course, less money spent overall.

waste thousands to trade in my 04 for those new stuff on 06? hell no. if i have to loose thousands of dollars on those things just to get 5 hp. and thsoe additions that i can do to myself on my 04, i will just get a brand new different kind of car.
remember. life is too short to buy the same car twice!
