Exclamation Is This Normal For the TSX?

Does eveyone's TSX's gas light come on, when the needle is not even close to being on the Empty symbol. It seems to be on way to early. Is this normal, or should i take it to the dealer to get fixed? Your feedback is appreciated. (You can Click Thumbnail to Expand image.)

That's normal. There's a lot of gas left in the tank when it comes on.

so the needle doesn't have to be close to the E line, before it comes on? Seems a little awkward, but if it happens on everyone's i guess it was just how it's designed.

Mine usually comes on with about 1/4 to a 1/5 of a tank left. So i would say that is about normal

yes my 2005 6MT does the same, probably between 1/4 and 1/5 of the tank.

Yes. This has been covered in other threads but the concensus is that the light hits when you've run through 13+ gallons of gas. With the tank holding 17, you can calculate your method of driving, and the distance, and figure out how far you have to go before you're really in trouble. Those with navi can have a better idea from the navi settings, us noobs who have no navi have to do the math in our heads.............

Hey, if everyone used the search function, there would be no further use of this forum for new TSX owners and they could just shut down. Then the mods would have to get a life.

13 gallons when the light comes on? NO wonder I've been getting less than 250 miles on a 'tank'....

i think that's pretty close to empty bar

i always fill it up when it says about 30~60 miles left. almost everytime, i end up putting in 15 gallons.

heck, it said i have 1 mile left when i had 2 gallons left once
