I am looking to get a Acura TSX but i dont know which year would be best and how much sould i purchase one for. I use to have a 2003 TL but it was not the type S. I like the TSX because of its suttleness and cool factor. But i also heard that there is a major difference between a 2004 model and a 2006 model. Can someone point me in the right direction? I want a TSX at the right price and with the right features. I am a newbie so please help. Thank you all!

Welcome to the board:
Get the 2006. The 2004s had issues. It was the first year of the TSX. Several of these included failure of the center console lights and failure of the AC compressor (very expensive fix)
There are exterior differences between the 2004 and 2006. Some of these include:
1) Different wheels
2) The 2006 has built in fog lights
3) 2006 has heated side view mirrors
4) 2006 has changes in the instrument panel such as MID display? not sure how this works
good luck

Looking at the '15 TLX
4) Uh yeah it had changes in the instrument panel - '04 had no MID.
Certain '04s had these issues. I have been going on 125K miles with mine and am only now experiencing some noise from the AC compressor so I expect that will probably die soon. Otherwise the only thing I had to replace was a CV joint and that was at 99K.

'06 also had some engine related changes. You get more output from the '06 set up than you do the '04. The exhaust for example is more open on the '06.

as others have said there are a few differences between 04-05 and 06-08, the 06 models also have a slight increase in hp (5) and have a few more electronics built in, the MID is really cool and useful and this causes the later models to be a few pounds heavier

You guys are great!! thank you all for your information. I have a 2006 model in mind but still dont know what issues it might have. What is MID?
More Infinity Destruction?
More Intelect Device?
Megatron ID Device?
I ran out. Is the car good in gas? I guess because its a 4 cylinder.

Oliver!!!
MID stands for Multi Information Display. Its basically a trip computer. It gives data about fuel economy, outside temperature, trip length, etc. It'll give you estimated range until you need to refuel. Maintenance minder info.
Beyond the aforementioned differences, the 06-08 also added bluetooth, some driver's memory settings, including seat position and a power passenger seat. I don't know if the 04/05 had the autodimming rear view mirror, but the newer ones do. The exhaust was enlarged as was the intake. Not much of a difference, though. I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of it. 07 added the tire pressure monitoring system and 08 brought nothing to the table that I know of. From everything I've read, 06 was the golden year if you're planning on modding the engine.
Fuel economy varies greatly depending on how you drive. If I'm running a lot of errands and doing a lot of city driving, I've gotten as low as about 22 mpg. But, when I drove it to SC and back, I averaged almost 40 mpg. Auto gets a little better highway miles than the manual due to the taller overdrive gear.

I have a 05 and the mirrors are heated, the passenger seat is also powered and I have turn signal lamps on the side mirror.
The only major difference is the 06+ has built in fogs, bluetooth, memory driver seat, the gauges and body design are a bit different. The 06+ have 5hp more then the 04-05's too.

THe "5 hp" difference is deceiving. If you took an 04 and an 06 and tested them back to back, you'd find the difference to be about 15 hp. The reason for the "5 hp" is because 04s were tested using a different test method than 06+.

Yeah the 05 model has the heated mirrors and all years have the turn signals in the mirror. Also the 06 has an AUX jack for your ipod or MP3 player. The steering wheel is different and it looks more expensive.

2004 TSX NAV 5AT MSM
As I recall the 2006 also has XM Satellite radio which my 2004 didn't have. The controls on the steering wheel are also backlit as well which the 2004's was not.

Don't forget the 06 4/50,000 warranty might be still good compared to the 04. The 06 model addressed all the technical service bulletins from 04/05 model years.
A major plus if you want to mod your engine with the Comptech supercharger or Hondata reflash are also available with the 06 5AT/6MT models. The stock 06 model engine give you about 15 extra HP compared to the 04/05 TSX (a bigger bang for the buck on the 06 model).
Other upgrades:
-Thicker steering wheel with 10 & 2 o’clock grips/bumps
- Bluetooth
- upgrade NAVI with 650 voice commands
- Fog lights
- Different A-spec body kit
- Redesigned hood (no metal strip on hood from grill)
- Two position memory seats
- Car “beeps” when the alarm is set on the remote instead of “honking” the horn
- AUX connector in arm rest for MP3/Ipod
- There is no difference other than TPMS and $$$ when comparing 06 to 07/08 models
The 06 TSX is the "sweet spot" for the 04-08 TSX model years.
