Were pressure switches always expensive? 07-08 TL

Bought a TL a few days ago so I'm new to the community. I was doing tons of research and decided that I'll need an ATF 3x3 change and the 3 pressure switches changed since the car has apparently never had any of those done. Car is at 262km btw.

I'm looking through some posts saying how their switches were only 40 bucks each whilst mine are in the 100s or 80s regardless of whether or not I check honda, or acura dealerships. I checked the genuine acura websites too and they're still very expensive. Has the price of these gone up or am I looking in the wrong place? Thanks in advance.

Just curious, as a result of your extensive research, did you happen to come across / read why the expensive OEM pressure switches are recommended versus opting for the less expensive unpredictable aftermarket amazon / ebay specials straight from the mainland?

I swear people here were buying their OEM parts for like 40 bucks and not 70. I'm still going to opt for OEM but I don't know why it's way pricier than it seemed to be for others.

$70 ish before shipping & handling is normal, I paid that much for my CL-S auto 3rd / 4th pressure switches in 2020, IIRC'ly.

If you can find a thread & link it here where people discuss the parts & paid $40 for OEM, I like to read it and look at the dates of the individual posts.

Find the part numbers for the particular pressure switches you want to procure, google search & find the best OEM vendor deal.

70 is the best I can get per switch which I have already ordered. I was asking if the prices increased over the years for these parts or not?

Price did increase - I mean putting aside inflation what isn't more expensive nowadays? I got an invoice from November 2016 where I paid ~ $160 for 3 switches with gaskets and shipping, but no idea how much each switch was exactly.

No idea what you can do with this knowledge tho. Soon they might be discontinued / out of stock so it's not that bad. I've been trying to get OEM brushes for the starter for some time, even trying to order from websites that ship from Japan, and I can't get them anywhere, so $30 / switch increase is not all that bad considering that alternative is getting them from autozone or something.

First, you're comparing USD to CAD, so that $40 USD is like $55 CAD. Next, people who paid $40 likely got them from a discounted online dealer, there's a few in the US. Those aren't really available in Canada, so best they'll do here is 15% off parts at the dealer.

Next, prices went up, especially in the last year or two.

yeah mine were cheaper when I did them about 5 years ago, now they are almost double the price, I would just have to say supply and demand for the price increase.

You need to buy OEM, I'd only buy it from a Honda part website, not eBay. Cheap switches mean it's likely not OEM and they will ruin your transmission
