Can someone give me a summary (or a link) of changes from 04 through 07 for TSX? I am researching a car for a friend and would like to know what the differences between different years of TSX are.

Mostly just options...for example in 2005 the TSX added bluetooth, Ipod, and a power passenger seat. 2006 "memory" seats showed up and slighlty more power. Also color combinations change over the years as well.

From a "used" standpoint I think the added features on the 2005 are very worthwhile so I would start there. I have a 2004 and hate not having bluetooth.

There will likely be far more informed responses than mine on this.

 

Bluetooth was added in 06, not 05.

 

2007 TSX will have a TPMS

hmm..well most definately, the bumper and the grill/hood trim. 06 has smoked reverse lights..and i think the headlights size is a bit different..

The grille on the '06 is different too. The '04 & '05's have a chrome strip on the hood itself...the '06 has it underneath.

Other notable '06 differences...

there's a few i'm probably (prolly) missing.

 

These are special order features from Q-branch, you have to have a double-0 license to get this.

 

It's short for TSX-PMS.

Once a month your car will start to leak fluids and be in a really bad mood

I believe most vehicles will have to have TPMS on them by some future date. It is one of those new mandated safety features by the USDOT.

About that ipod integration...I thought that it ended up not being compatible with the '06 tsx? Only the other models?

is it me or does it look like the side reflectors in the headlight housing of the '06 look more amber than the previous models? the '04's when i looked at them looked a little "tinted".

Heated mirrors.
XM (and the little hump on the roof).
Silver steering wheel inserts (on the 3 and 9 o'clock spokes, behind the cruise and radio buttons) changed to black.

New in 06:
Black radio knobs changed to silver metal (may have happened in 05?)
Thicker steering wheel with thumbrests at 2 and 10 o'clock.
Surface pattern of center console panels changed.
Tail light lenses redesigned.
New exhaust tips (not 100% sure about this one)
Headlight/sidemarker lenses redesigned.
Hood and grille redesigned.
Side skirts extended.
New windshield wiper design.
New gauge cluster w/ MID. MID adds two buttons to steering wheel at 5 o'clock.
Bluetooth, which adds two buttons to the steering wheel at 7 o'clock, in front of the two NAV buttons.
Upgraded NAV (software, displays/GUI, data).
AUX/Ipod input, an so a slightly redesigned center console.
Remote linked memory seats and driver preferences.
Passenger airbag indicator added between the two center vents, and hazard light button (and vents) redesigned. (Possibly upgraded pass airbag, w/ child sensor.)
Added grommet under pass. seat to keep rear floormat from shifting.
Etching on windows changed from "Honda" to "Acura"
New colors: green, royal blue, etc.
Length of warranty extended.

In reality, the hp diff of the 06 is actually more than 5 hp. You can look at it one of two ways (both guesstimated): old way 04/05 200 hp vs 06 215-220, or new SAE way 04/05 185-190 hp vs 06 205 hp. Many have said that the power diff of the 06 vs the 04/05 is quote noticeable, at least in MT form.

the +5 hp actually translates to more because of the new hp measurements, but i don't know exactly how much it is. just as an FYI. i'm sure someone can chime in with the technicalities of it.

 

ipod integration vs auciliary input are two different things. there is an aux input on the 2006 for ANY mp3 player, then there is an expensive ipod integration.

one topic of importance that i dont think was mentioned yet is the wheels. a lot of people dislike the new wheels as compared to the 2004/05, i feel the opposite, where i like the newer wheels better.

i'd love to hear some of the new things on the 2007 (like maybe the mirrors tied to the memory seats?).

i agree. the 04-05 headlights amber looks more "tinted" than the 06's. the 06's look more amberish.

there's an 1/8" jack inside the center console which you can plug your ipod into but it does not charge the ipod nor allow you to control your ipod from factory controls on the dash and steering wheel.

 

I think that the borders around the reflector are darker and thicker on the 06.

 

I agree, I like the 06 wheels better, too. The spokes look really thin and lithe when you're standing a couple of feet next to the car, looking down at them. The 17" diameter is also exaggerated (if only the same could be said for the measly width). A friend of mine, female and 30's, knows and likes cars, but is not a TSX expert like all of us, saw my car for the first time last week and very deliberately and specifically praised the wheels. They sure do look lousy in photos, though. Not the best OEM wheels out there for sure (I'd give that one to Infiniti), but pretty good, IMO.

 

If you're performance oriented you should know that the 06 wheels are lighter than the 04/05 wheels by a couple of pounds each.
