Don't let those articles fool you about a LSD being regular "traction control", its really for better cornering.

I fully admit this compliant is based off what others here had said AND the fact the TSX doesn't seem to do all that well in the braking test I've seen in the mags (but I guess that could be partly the tires).
The 2003 RSX-S A-spec shaved about 20 feet off its braking distance from standard w/ better summer tires and higher friction pads (as per Car & Driver). The last test of the 2005 RSX-S w/ better tires showed about a 15 foot improvement, now with larger 17" A/S tires as OEM equipment (as per C&D). I think there's a pattern here and believe a change of tires and pads could net something similar to this for the TSX.

I wonder how much add'l weight the '06 gains by adding more cool stuff, stiffening, sound-deadening, whatever. (It just seems like, with each redesign, cars gain weight as they gain cool stuff.) Enough to offset the 5-10 hp gain? The stock '04 is about 16 lbs/hp, meaning if the '06 is 160 lbs heavier then the seat-of-the-pants will be about the same I think.
I plan on driving my 04 TSX until it won't go anymore -- I like the car that much. Each subsequent model will be cooler/faster/better, I suppose, but I like everything about my car (including the XM Roady 2 I bought for $50 and can also take on the boat or in the house, as opposed to the hard-wired version '05 forward) and will really like the $450/mo I won't have to spend in a couple years.
So I'm getting Hondata-fied, do the i/h/e, replace the Michelins, and love my TSX ten more years.

I was mainly just wondering -- I don't know that the '06 is any heavier or, for that matter, any lighter than the '04/'05. I'll be interested to see the specs when they come out.

For my purchase of the 06 TSX we based the price on the existing TSX added normal 05 options and came to a price. They didn't know any details.

He also confirmed that the MSRP increase will be no more than $200, but he said the delivery charge is going up by $110, for obvious reasons.

November 9th seems to be the official release date for the 06 TSX, pricing wise, and when the model will show up on the Acura website. The car should be out for sale around that date...

in fact they had a brand new white one there today (which they didnt have last week when i bought my car)

Butthinking about it, it's entirely possible that two increases are occurring and I only know of one, so that's about all I can tell you. Maybe I'll hear a new number when I call the dealer-man on the morning of the 9th and make him my offer.
