Stopped at Acura of Boston today... (and picked up the new brochure! )

Here's what the saleman said:

- 5 days from today official pricing will be released
- He expects a slight increase of $500 to $600
- They expect to receive the first shipment of cars in 3 to 4 weeks
- There is no price difference between MT/AT

Also interesting, they're also entirely out of all the 04s except for a single MT demo unit. I think Acura screwed that up. It seems a little ridiculous to not being able to sell a car for at least a month.

Let's keep the rumor mill going!

More rumors

I picked up a 2005 TSX brochure from Pohanka Acura in the DC area and I was told that they are expecting the new TSX in a couple weeks.
Also, Pohanka Acura usually keeps a large inventory of TSX but they have four left as of today...I am guessing what Acura is trying to do is what Apple did with the new iMac: Whoever is looking for a cheap '04 after the introduction of the '05 won't be able to find one.

I thought they weren't making a 2005 for the TSX...or at least that's what my dealership told me...are they wrong?

Yep... they're going to sell the 2004 model until next March, at which point the 2006 will come out. Trying to beat the YM sales record twice in a row.

thanks for info! i'm really annoyed w/ my dealer anyway...so i guess it would make sense that they said that. are the new model year 2005 or 2006? are they really going to cost that much more? i'm thinking about trading in my 2004 for the newer year...any thoughts on that? do we know what the "improvements" are for the newer year? thanks guys!

WTF, why would you trade a 2004 for 2005 -- especially when you don't know if there are any improvements (based on you asking about them)?!?! Maybe you just like wasting money...

Your car is giving you some bad Chi energy so you figure that you need to change it to get some positive chi working for you. Am I right?

My wife did that and everything worked out so much better for her. But that is if you believe in the old ways of the Yin and Yang (feng shui).

Just wait a couple of weeks until the real thing shows up - I assume left coast first.

For what it's worth ... I have been told that the pricing for 05 TSXs should come out on Monday, approximately a week before delivery.
Of course, there is no emperical data suggesting that the sales rep I spoke to is any more informed than others.

I just got back from filling out my loan app at the acura dealership... the dealer mentioned that they need to have the pricing info from acura by the 1st of november in order to do something with leases, so I have a feeling the new numbers will be out on monday...

From the EPA site:
ACURA
TSX .................................................. ... M-6 ...... 2.4/4 .... 21/30
.................................................. ......... A-S5 .... 2.4/4 .... 22/31
These milage numbers seem to be different from the 04 model.

So much for the '05 price coming out today, not even an announcement of record sales for October which doesn't surprise me with the new MY being released.

RL was released 3 weeks ago. I think the wait has been long enough.
I still say someone will scan the window sticker of the first car before Honda/Acura release anything official.

Don't know if this has been posted yet or not.

Just spoke to someone at Acura. They said the official release date was pushed back from Oct 27 to
Nov 9th (couldn't give me a reason why). I believe she also said that the shipments were also pushed back (don't know how sure she was about that).

Impatiently waiting for my 05.

Probably to give dealers more time to unload the 2004 models. I know one dealership that still shows 25 in their inventory.

25! Damn, there is a huge shortage in the Western zone. We ran out of 2004s weeks ago, but fortunately we received our 2005s today!

The delay in releasing the car has nothing to do with inventories. Acura has stepped up the Initial Quality Inspection process and all the cars are randomly checked again in the port on the west coast.

I was just guessing (and half joking). So what is the MSRP of the 2005s? I can only think of one reason why they've not yet released it...

If you received 2005s today, does that mean they were shipped out Oct 27? That would imply that they are still on schedule for production....just delayed on the release. Mine is supposed to be shipped Nov 10 (I'm on east coast...so I was told 3-4 weeks after that for delivery).

Everyone, please remember, I'm in Hawaii and the boat drops our cars off on its way from Japan to the west coast. When I get in the office I'll try to get a photo of the window sticker. Who wants me to e-mail it to them? PM me and you can post it.

I told you so.
We will have the window sticker on the net before Acura gets off their ass and updates their web site.

It's a complete joke that they haven't released the MSRP value for the 2005 TSX yet.

Ok, i couldn't read through 21 pages of posts. Anyone have any idea if there is going to be a price hike???

Seems like the '05 isn't any better with the small additions that they made. If there was some memory seats in there, I think I would be waiting. Hopefully there are some good leftovers on the lot that they are willing to deal with!!!
