Question Braking Noise

I noticed when I start up my car, drive several feets until I hit the speed bump and that's when I applied the brake and I would hear the noise "clack clack". Is that common to anyone?

Is it like a humming/vibrating noise? That is the ABS check. Happens first time you hit the brakes when you drive. This is normal.

No, it's not humming/vibrating noise that you described. this is when I got the car in motion and applied the brakes. I just hear that sound. Very distinctive sound.

it maybe time for a service or new brakes. when was the last time u had ur brakes checked out? if they are still in good condition, service them... do it ur self too its easy... btw u always hear the noise or only when ur brakes are cold?

It's normal. If you hear clickings after backing up then hit the brakes while driving forward, it's the brakes doing something normal. LOL. I wish I can explain it more but the College Hills Honda website is down right now so I can't link the article. When the site is back up, I'll post the article.

I get the "clack clack" noise too! I've always wondered about it...it is quite loud and can be disconcerting at times. I've only noticed it when I brake for the first time in mornings or on a cold engine/brakes.

There's a retainer spring clip in the caliper that holds the pads firm. When I replaced my pads recently, I noticed one of mine had worn and broken just a bit. It didn't seem to produce any noise but maybe if yours is worn enough, the pads could be shifting.
