Driving along and at the next stop light it didn't downshift for taking off and the check engine light came on. I had to manually downshift and I think it only went into 2nd. On the up shift it would not go into overdrive. I checked the trans fluid when I got home and it was where it should be. After turning the car off it will not restart and the transmission will not shift out of park. I pulled off the battery negative terminal to reset and it did not fix it! Ran perfectly before and only has 87000 miles! Help!!!

 

That's weird. To get it out of park, stick the key in the hole beside the shift gate. The rest of your problems I'm baffled by.
