Has Anyone Replaced Their Front Windshield?
If so.. let me know how much you paid. Mine developed a NASTY crack near the base today as I was driving. Damn rocks.
hi ken,
i had mine replaced when a bird flew into my windshield on the freeway. i paid less than $200 including labor for a new one but it doesnt say HONDA on the glass. From Acura/Honda, the new windshield was like $600 and thats not even including labor so i called around and got estimates and went with one i liked. its not that expensive if you don't go to the dealer.
my car is also a 97 3.2 and when they took off the trim around the windshield, it ruined the black plastic on the outside and they broke the clips so sometime when i drive the passenger side trim randomly pops off. now i have new trim waiting at home to be put on.

Before i got my car, it had a chip in the windsheild and i called the insurance company and said it was right in my line of vision. They paid for a new one, and its a genuine honda.
you DEFINTLY want to go with genuine honda parts, because it comes with a layer of plastic film that has been known to save lives...the man i bought my car from was in a head on collision at 60mph in one of his cars, and the protective film saved his head. on the cheaper windshields you dont get that protection which to me is priceless.

I got a rock ding in mine today
I was checking some prices online. The online Acura dealership (Delray) is selling it for $416.00
I found a reasonable price at www.windshieldstogo.com
They quoted the following prices:
Windshield + molding + installation = $258.24
Windshield + molding = $178.07
Windshield = $128.48
It's a lot cheaper than the dealership, but then as hinesktchp pointed out - maybe the original Honda windshield is worth the extra money for safety.
