engine swap?

sup guys, i just saw a 3.2 TL engine on ebay for sale for about 1g. haha i know i'm not gonna get it, but just wondering how feasible it is for an engine swap. yeah i know if you got the money, you can do it, but if there are any mechanics on this board, i'd like to know what the process is.

an engine swap isnt all that hard you have to make new motor mounts and make it fit in there ... after its in there you have to make it run and that means connecting the wires and making sure it runs without flaw

no sh!t.......i see many cars out there that are cool...but none can compare to the elongated hoods of our cool rides...as i understand it, you would have to do a tranny swap also. the 3.2 and 2.5 trannys are totally incompatible. i wonder how much a new engine would set me back?

I saw this one, too. Would love to have a 3.2 VTEC TL engine in my first generation. The price seems not that bad (at the time $1095).

How much would installation run? Everything to make it run "normal"

WOW!! But there is a problem. Our engines are mounted straight in the 3.2TL and the new TL's the engine is transverse. Sideways. New engine, tranny, and labor would probably be more than it is worth.

dude find a nsx motor from a salvage car. the 3.2 TL and the 3.2 NSX are in the same family "C32" family. in theory the tranny should hook right up. if it doesn't, swap the Legend 6spd in place of the sorry auto. this is just my opinion aight. i was planning to do this myself, but I got to help the family right now.

Right why not just use a NSX engine with the NSX tranny? Then you will not have to worry about compatibility issue.

i agree...i remember when i had the Vigor and the emission control tester had to drive the car for a short 2 sec distance and when he put his foot on the gas, it took off. he got out and asked me if it was a 6. when i told him it was a 5, he was like "what!?"

i was just trying to point out that you'd have a better chance with a 3.2 NSX motor(C - Family) than a 2nd Gen 3.2(J - Family) if the tranny fits the car, go for it. i just know the LS 6spd does.
