ETS Intercooler question

Hi guys,

I've been trying to figure out which type of gasket I would need to put here. If I don't have a gasket there, will it throw any codes?

Which gasket should I use here? Can I just use hondabond?

I ended up using some generic liquid gasket material. If you don't, you will likely have a small boost leak. I personally never threw any codes, but after sealing that connection I had better throttle response and fuel economy - especially at low rpm.

We'll see how smart that was when I have to take it back apart for my next spark plug change though. haha

lol. You can always just undo the hoses and leave the base of the bpv on still so you wouldn’t have to mess with that mess again.

im sealing mine with Honda bond right now.

Does ETS still produce the RDX specific Intercooler? Their website says no.

Thanks @ljcolomacks I'll give them a call. Seems like I've developed a Heeltoe spending habit lately.

Just had this intercooler and a Turbosmart Kompact installed. Went for a short test drive and noticed the bypass valve is louder and sometimes makes a noise right before blowing off. I didn't feel a major performance gain, but it could be because I didn't reset the ECU. I'm using the Hondata K&N short ram base map. Hoping these extra mods are compatible and doesn't affect anything negatively.

Unplug the battery for at least five minutes to reset the computer. That’s should help you out.

Resetting the ECU did the trick. Still using the K&N Intake Base Map. No CELs and seems to be running well. I don't see how a little colder air will negatively affect the out the box tune.

I'm glad the computer reset did the trick for you!

It's just cooler air, which is denser thus the power increase.

A dyno tune is the best way to optimism power, but the regular hondata tuner is fine for baseline tuning numbers.
