Aftermarket amp help
Aftermarket amp help
I put in a new amp and tapped the output from the factory radio. I'm getting sound fine, but even at volume 1 it is very loud (maybe volume setting 25? on the stock system) and as far as I can tell when I turn the volume up only the center channel that I never touched gets louder.
Does anyone know what could be causing this? So far my only idea is the volume knob doesn't control the signal coming from the back of the factory radio. It's sending a signal for to the amp to control the volume. Can anyone confirm? I spent hours lengthening the radio wires to tap them. I really don't want to do it again with the amplifier.

Answer
you need to tap into the outputs from the factory amp not the radio. hou will have to use something like a audio control lc7i or if your new amp has high level inputs you can just co ect straight to it but I'm pretty sure from reading other threads you will loose your center speaker. Hope this helps.
