check engine light

I have a 1997 Acura Cl 2.2. The check engine light is on for the last six months. I changed the egr valve and did a full tune up. Still no luck. Please let me know if I can do anything else.

Take it to autozone and have them pull the code... they'll tell you what you need to fix

Have you checked if any hoses going to the egr are leaking(air) or dameged?

Was the EGR manifold removed and the intake manifold openings under the EGR manifold cleaned and opened? If not, this is your problem. It's also possible that a blockage has occured in the EGR passage from the EGR valve to the EGR manifold. Rod that out also.

When engine is fully warm, raise idle speed to ~1500 rpm, and remove the vacuum line to the EGR valve. There should be vacuum available and you should see valve bellows move when you remove the vacuum source. If vacuum is available and valve is moving, then EGR flow is blocked somewhere; EGR valve, EGR passages, EGR manifold, EGR manifold ports to intake manifold.

good luck
