Car won't start, please help

When I start my car, it clicks many times, with interior lights flickering. Also I can't turn on the headlight. when I turn the headlight switch on, the interior lights flickering and headlight not on. Is it a starter problem?

LoL, I just checked all the wires that connect to the battery, they are very tight.
Is it a big trouble on my car?

i think its your battery, my bros car did this, i could work everything until i tried to start the car. then everything would stop working. but it could also be a loose ground, when i had a loose ground nothing worked though.

Could you please tell me where I can check for loose ground? I only know the one that connects the negative of the battery to the body.

there should be 2 grounds coming off the negative.
do you have a 2.x or 3.0?

The car clicks when you turn the key? I sounds like the starter is bad...

Try jump starting the car first, if it starts with a charge, it's the battery. If it still clicks it's the starter

Thank you guys. My car is a 97 2.2CL. I just tried the jump start, and my car did start. I let the car run for about 10 minutes and drove around for 20 minutes. When I turned off the car and try to start again, I was in the same situation. I heard many times clicking sounds. Should I change the battery?

One more thing, when I jumped the battery from another car, my car couldn't start immediately, I had to wait about 5 minutes, and then the car started.

LoL, it took me all day to figure out what's wrong with my car, but the problem is still not figured out.

It is your starter, not the battery. Just take it off (easy, 2-3 bolts) and bring it to Autozone or Kragen to test it. I think it's free or very cheap to test. If it's really bad then get one online and install it yourselves...

btw, you can jumpstart the car and drive to Autozone or Kragen, then take off the starter there etc. if you don't have another way to get there....

alittle more info would help some, any ind lights on?are your light's dimmer than normal? does it start sometimes and not others?

the starter you'll have power but it'll click and not try to turn over when you try to start. the clicking is why your light's were flickering.(interruption of power)my guess is a power problem, your car might not be getting enough juice to start.your batt is not holding a charge or your alt is not charging your batt.

Disconnect your battery while the car is running. If the car cuts off, you need a new alternator. If it stays on,it's fine.

i've replaced all 3 items(starter/batt/alt)on my lemon that i love. when my starter went i tried to jump it and bang on it and it was a no-go, so that's why i think you may have a power issue..

the starter doesnt make a clicking noise. it makes almost a grinding noise. and when my starter went nothing flickered, the car just took forever or wouldnt start, so i would have to pop start it.
