squeeky window

Alrite, so everytime I roll down my passenger side window it makes this horrible screeching sound. I did a search and came up with alot of window regulator stuff and I'm pretty sure its not that, b/c the window rolls up and down fine. Does anyone know what this could be I'm gonna take the door panel off this weekend and check it out just wondering what I should look for.

thanx for any help

Get some silicone spray, take the door panel off, and have at it.

to the silicone spray, you shouldn't even need to take the panel off, just spray in the 2 channels that the window slides up and down in

mine still does the same. the friction i'm getting is not coming from the tracks so using the silocone lube doesn't help my problem. its the rubber thats touching the middle of the glass thats causeing the sound. if spray the lube on that part it will smear all over my window. i'm just dealing with it. it only happens sometimes.

heads up for you guys:
mine was doing that for a long time, i tried silicone spray a few times but it never really helped.
just a few days ago, the inner weather stripping on the outside of the window has come 50% off..
it's still connected on the front half, but the back half is completely separated.

any ideas on reattaching it?

shnee, the weather strip is held on by a series of metal tabs inside the door panel, take the panel off, and try bending the clips back in, otherwise, glue it back in place, that could also def be causing other people's slow windows, i had that problem on mine till i swapped the weather stripping piece with a spare i had from my spare door panel set.

and that is the inner one on the outside of the window?
it's not the strip you can easily see.. if you peel back that one, there is a smaller one in there.
it doesn't look like there are any clips for it, it looks just like a stray piece of rubber.
i just have the back half tucked in for now.
i'm hoping i'm not letting a ton of water collect in my door

My window was squeeking right after I put in the new regulator (yesterday). I got some silicone spray sprayed it all over the place, and it runs real smooth now. Just wipe the silicone off the first few times its on the window. If you don't lube anything it will probably strain the motor a lot more, and probably kill it real soon.

yea i tried the sillicone spray but before worked for awhile but not a permanent solution now im thinking it could be sand or something stuck in the weather stripping idk but im taking the panel off anyways to paint the wood trim hopefully ill figure it out a squeeky window really doesnt look good when you roll up on some chicas lol

bump

I have the same problem where my inner weather stripping on the outside of the window has began to tear. The felt on the glass side has dry rotted and bends down while the window goes down which in turn, tears the strip even more. Can someone help me identify this part number?

After looking on some OEM parts sites i THINK that this is the part but can someone clarify please

link

click on the diagram link on that page

Good news on the lube.

I'm currently driving around with no door panel...I just have a block of wood jammed into one of the holes in the door to keep my window up. I try to make sure no ones around when I open my door in public places, because its just a bunch of wires and my window controls flopping around

Rolled my window up last week, heard a big BANG, like someone throwing a rock through my window...and then my window just started slowly descending into my door panel. Never ending stories, jeesh.
