HID kit issues

So I bought a brand new Xenith Xenon HID kit from a member on a local forum... it's a 9006 plug and play... the thing is that when I go to plug into the CL's headlight bulb harness, it seems that it wont go all the way in so it doesn't make a connection.... Did anyone else run into some issues with installing their HID kit??... I tried the kit on my brother's BMW E36 and it works fine, it plugs in perfect into his 9006 connectors...

i had this problem with my kit........took me 2 days to figure out that you're suppose to press a little harder on the cl's 9006 plug.
i think it takes about 2 clicks for it to be in all the way.

if it works fine with your bro's e36 then its not the tabs.

the thing with the E36 connectors is that they dont have the plastic surround like the ones on the CL... did you guys have to press hard as hell to get them in, like hard as in you're thinking that you're gonna break something?? I didn't have much time to tinker with them as I have an exam today... I was thinking of just using a dremel to make it fit but I'm worried that if one of my bulbs burn out that it would void the warranty because I had to modify it a little...

this is the E36 connector

and this is the CL connector, notice that the BMW has no plastic around it....

worst case scenario, I could cut the plastic off of the CL connectors,.. theres a junkyard 5 minutes away with rows and rows of accords so if I fuck up I could get some spares....

I'll try it later on tonight... another question since you have a 2.x,.. where'd ya mount your ballast on the drivers side? Passenger side is no problem since I have room because of my intake...

I had this same problem, I had to modify my 9006 connectors, I actually hacked up some 9006 bulbs and used those to wire my ballasts I scrapped the plugs from my wiring set all together

I just finished installing them in the car, I didn't have to make my own connectors or anything. I just cut the tabs off the blue connectors and then I pryed the tabs inside a little so that they would be further apart. I did have to flip the connectors around for them to work though... It was a pain in the ass to find a spot for the ballast on the drivers side... I used 3M mounting tape to stick the ballast on the passenger side... I think they look pretty good... I think they only glare a little which is no big deal. I'll have to take a picture later on when I get the car out of the garage....

Here's a before and after.... btw its a 6000k kit...

are they potted ballasts?
if not, aren't you worried about water ruining them?
I don't know what I'm going to do about mine, because they aren't potted, and no way am I cracking these things open and covering them in the shit!
hopefully I figure something out because if I drive around with them exposed like that, I'll never NOT be worried about them

the website states "Waterproof, weatherproof, and shockproof ballasts are designed to last even against the toughest environments!"

I'm not worried about water getting into them because where they are now it would be pretty hard for water to come in direct contact with the ballasts. Worst case scenario I'll wrap the ballasts in duct tape...The only thing I'm worried about is the ballast on the passenger side falling off and into the hole where the airbox was. I installed a bracket through the hole but it doesn't cover it all so it could fall on one side...
A few more pics...

The camera makes it look like they glare alot but in reality they don't glare at all... I'm really impressed with this kit...

While driving, pic is shaky... driving with one hand, camera in the other...

6000k vs. Silverstars in the high beams...

Difference between OEM HID's in 06 Acura CSX and mine... (CSX in front, CL in back)

I've only driven with them for like 15 minutes and they are great, I like the fact that I can see where I am going now...

It's not even comparable, I had 9005 silverstars in my low beams before... You can get an eBay HID kit for around 80 bucks that would do a wayyyyy better job than a 9005 conversion...
