If you did the coilovers (or struts/springs) yourself you will be fine doing an intake

Haha my brother did the springs while I was on vacation. He helps me with all my car needs because he's an absolute fanatic.

I think I'll get some GR-2s from Summit with my gift card, and intake on eBay, then a lip somehow. That's the plan atleast.

Hey fellas real quick question.

I was just about to buy these struts for my '97 3.0CL. Are these the correct parts? Just wanted to be sure.

^Really? Cause I heard the opposite of that...that GR-2s are just fine with lowering springs.

Nevermind, just checked the n00b guide. Hmm..my drops a 1.8"/1.75" you think the AGXs are that much more necessary?

I've heard that the GR-2's are a little better at handling a drop, but they will eventually blow out. I've been doing a lot of research on suspension pieces lately. If you go with the AGX you'll gain the adjustability (worth it IMO) plus you can bring them over if you decide to upgrade to coilover sleeves.

Yeah, sounds like the AGXs are worth it. What's adjustable on them? How low I bring my car, or how stiff the suspension is?

i have agx with my nuespeed race springs and they are 2.0f and 2.2 r and i love em. real low. u should go lower you will be so much happier, you can adjust the stiffness. i have my fronts on the stiffest, and my rears are half, and its a great ride.

I probably won't go lower because of the roads. I'm satisfied with my drop now, so probably not.

yes, they're are stiffness adjustable. I hardly see that as a selling point, because you wont adjust them twice a day....prolly set it once and forget. unless you auto-x your car in which case you should a) have coilovers b) that wouldn't be a DD

but +1 for AGX
or Koni if you're willing to spend.

Haha I would love to auto-x my car, but that would never happen. I just ordered the AGX. Thanks for the help.

I agree with the adjustable part though, dicorp. I wish they had something inbetween AGXs and GR-2s. Something for lowered cars, but not adjustable so they'd be cheaper. Oh well.

u're better off spending the extra change and getting adjustable, it'll be more beneficial in the long run

I spent the morning vacuuming and dejunking the whip. As much of a pain in the ass it is.. there's something satisfying about looking inside your car and seeing nice vacuumed carpet and clean seats.

So, my friend gave me an idea for something that I don't think has been done to a CL yet. I'm thinking about going for it... just not sure how it would go over on here and how much work it's going to involve. I have all the parts ready to go though. I'm going to keep it a secret except with a few close, trusted sources until I decide what to do

true, but you'd want an upgraded suspension for that right? even then, i wouldnt re adjust my shock stiffness from DD. thats why i think the adjustable stiffness of AGX is a gimmick

Well, the super secret mod isn't happening. I found pictures of someone on here who has done it... and let's just say I'm glad I only considered it for a day. Hideous.

However... there is some new paint in my future. And this particular color hasn't been done on a CL yet (at least I don't think), but it is on another Acura.

Edit: Damn it, it has been done. Maybe I should look at something else then.

My friend has a set of suicide door hinges that he said he would install for free and shave my door handles if I bought a popper. I considered it, until I did my research. Must have been all the fiberglass particles getting to me for me to think it was a good idea.

I think if I can find a single tail light I can get by with ripping that one apart to do the LED conversion.

Shave the handles anyway and buy a popper. Suicide doors i think would look a lil awkward on a coupe.

That still might be done, but I've heard horror stories of the solenoids failing or the battery dying. The car is still a DD, so it's not practical really. Maybe when it reaches show status (if it ever does) I can attempt it.

DO NOT put shaved door handles on your daily driver CL. You were right, someone did it before, Me! It looked pimp and females loved it, i'm not gonna lie, but the hassles of having to break into my own car whenever the doors failed was not worth it at all. esp in the winter when i had to de-ice the door to open it to get into the car . Suicide doors on a coupe is a definitly weird thing do to, it would make getting in and out such a hassle.
