i'm so fed up with this car.

the nut on the right front shock (you know, the main one under the hood that holds the whole thing together) was a half turn from coming completely off tonight.

i know it's not that big of a deal, but this is so frustrating - this car has so much potential but i dont have the money to throw into it. i see the ridiculous cars on here and i see mine that might as well be stock except for a few things and it's just frustrating.

no worries bro, you're still young. most of us older members have money to mod and do maintenance at the same time cuz of many jobs. yours can get there too with some time. I've been trying to save money to mod my car this way since '03!

AttheGates, dont be coy with the mods, if u dont plan on selling the car, you should keep modding!

well someone tryed to break into or jack my car last night. i forgot to put my alpha lock on and this evening i discovered pry/dent marks on the chrome stripping. which leads me to believe someone try and used a pry bar to make enough room to stick somethin in there to pop the lock. they were never there before.

forget that, i'd make the effort and wake up at 5 am for a lil while and move the car or make some sort of deal to be putting my CL in the garage instead of whatever car is in there. I have to move my sisters car to move mine into the protective part of my driveway every time i park at home either way. The 1 night i didn't my car got broken into at 3 or 4 am and they stole my new clutch out my trunk. The space I put my CL in, its impossible to get into the car without waking everyone in my house or steal anything without me having time to come outside with a gun/knife/bat and kill the person doing so. I think its worth the effort being that i get to keep my car and all my investments into it and sleep very well at night.

there were on ebay. i havent checked for a while tho. my friend sold me his for like $70. i think im gonna pick up another one too.

im probaly gonna get this alarm ive had lying in my garage installed, and rig a killswitch. then i wont have to worry about theft. unless someone actually tows the car.

but if thieves want something bad enough they'll get it.

Well if you take the necessary precautions, they're gonna have to want it pretty bad to find a way to take it, and your security measures could make them feel as if it isnt worth the time and effort. They tried to steal my boys car with an alpha lock on it by flatbedding it, and they tore up his whole fender trying to pull the car with the lock still on, but then it seized and they couldn't move the car any further. Needless to say he was pissed when he got out of work to see his car torn up, but replacing a fender cost alot less then replacing a fully JDM'ed out civic/ferio.

They won't get mine, it's in a garage, there's no bat in it, all the ground wires are removed, and there's not gas in it

Oh and I disabled the garage door for the time being

Anyone know about this or is he retarded and all I need is a camber kit?

i'd just go with a camber kit up front and rear washer trick, and see if it'll work with that. It should. If not, i'd get other opinions from other shops

How hard is it to put on a camber kit? I can't seem to find the DIY I know is floating around on here...

ok, im having a bit of trouble with my camber/alingment too so here's my understanding.
as far as parts, an adjustable balljoint is a type of camber kit. it will push your upper control arm and straighten out the tire vertically or give you more camber if you want. you will need it to set your camber to factory specs.
adj balljoints are about 150 a set on ebay, i beleive SPC makes them.

you will also need to set your castor for even tire wear.this means how much your front wheels point in/out. this is completely independent of camber. they can do it without any additional suspension parts. so if a shop tells you otherwise, tell them to fuck off and go elsewhere.

now the whole issue with this is that you're better off doing both at once since a shop will charge you every time they get your car on their alignment rack, regardless if they're only gonna do one or the other or both adjusments.

I heard that the ball joint camber kits are a bit more difficult to install correctly than others. I bought the Ingalls kit with the sliders and it took me about a little over an hour to install.

so i was invlolved in a hit and run yesterday. pretty awesome. parked at albertsons to get stuff for dinner with my girlfriend, came out and theres one little gash, one pretty big gash, a screw mark from a license plate and two scuff marks on my back bumper. nothing too bad, and its not even worth reporting to insurance. im just sick of people doing shit to my car. when i got it there was on little scratch in the bumper, one teeny dent in the trunk and like a quarter sized dent on the back left wheelwell. now i have about 20 more little dents from people opening their doors into my car, one big one under the acura badge on my trunk (no idea how it got there), my front bumper is completely demolished from my girlfriend backing in to it twice, and theres scratches and scuff marks everywhere that i cant get out.

this all just pisses me off because ive treated this car so well; babied it, and still, it continues to get more and more fucked up.

Sucks bro, yeah I have a million dings on the passenger side of my car, once it gets fixed and painted, I will be parking the farthest spot away at any parking lot. I won't even take my car to the mall or grocery store ever cuz of inconsiderate assholes like that. Not to mention I still haven't gotten a new bumper from 2 years ago when my buddy put his exhaust pipes through my front bumper Waiting on stimulus check for that

I hear ya man... I have had my car for 7 years now and I am always treating her like the day I got her, but she looks aged. Clear coat is peeling, tiny bit of rust on rear wheel fender, minute chips and scratches all over, saggy bumper, and then the dents and scratches caused by other people just drive me crazy. But its almost 12 years old now, and thats just how it goes.

Well, got some goodies yesterday. Window reg, and SRI.
The window reg was pretty easy to install and works great
The SRI was the wrong one...for the second time...in a row. (01 CL Type S)
A big box (spoiler) just came and is waiting to be opened on the ping-pong table. Let's hope it's for a 1st gen CL... My luck, it's probably for a 350Z or something..

Like my father always tells me, "If you're going to drive it, that's what going to happen." Man I hate parking my car in a highschool parking lot though. I've seen more hit-and-runs in that parking lot than anywhere else in my life.

SPC makes Eibach. Or vise-versa, something like that. Anywho, Summit Racing gave me the wrong camber kit the first time. It was from Eibach. Now I have an SPC kit that's waiting to be put on along with my rotors. Calling my mechanic tomorrow. Regardless, Summit Racing is going to give me a $100 gift card for reimbursal. What the hell should I do with it? Towards an intake? Exhaust? Suggestions?

buy a muffler with it, you can get an intake for cheap, I'll even help u put it on if u want lol
Haha if you're up for it, we should paint my skirts! I don't know how long that would take, but I can do the intake with my brother. I want to order one Sunday.

This is the time when I may start dumping crazy money into my car. I have a bunch saved up right now, and I'm going to get a ton over the summer from working. I wanna buy klepto's lips, but it'll go to a local buyer.
