Got in a wreck tonight

Hey guys, my baby got banged up pretty bad today, well yesterday now..

Heres what happened. Friday, me and my friend was driving to a friend's house. I was approaching an intersection and i was on the far right hand lane. Cars on the other lane are backed up because it was kind of rush hour traffic time. Anyway, this car was crossing the street trying to get into the shopping strip that was my to my right.

So basically he crossed all the lanes except the far right lane which i was coming in. My lane was clear so i was traveling at about 25-30 mph, slowing down because i was coming up on the light. So the guy couldn't stop in time and he clips my rear left fender area and almost makes me spin out, but i hit something on my right rear bumper and makes me almost spin out the other way and then i went and hit this other guy.

So basically it was kind of a pinball kind of action. It all happened so fast, and the whole time i was trying to control my streeing and not spin out. Thank god i didn't.
So here are the damages...

Does anyone have any kinda expertise and determine if the insurance companies will total out the car?

This is where he cliped me and almost made me spin out

This is where i hit something/someone and made me spin back the other way

This is where i went and hit the other guy

This is the damage of the guy i hit

at least your alright. as for that car, i doubt they will total it out. i'm sure the repair cost are much less than the value of the car.

glad to see everyone's alright. the quarter pannels are each gonna cost around $2000 to replace mine was $2500 just for the rear right. the front bumper needs to be replaced $1000, the drivers door is prolly gonna get replaced $1000, the rear bumper $1000 tail light $100. total around 6-7g's I hate to say theres prolly a pretty good cnance theyll total it out. being from texas and contributing to many autobody shops profit fund in highschool (4 accidents) im pretty sure texas uses the 75% rule on totaling out a car. but get an estimate at a reputable place and see wadup. hopefully im wrong.

if they do total it out can't you buy it back for like 100 bucks? I'm just saying, when my integ got stolen and they found it ( with a few things missing) it was enough to total it out. I was told I could have bought it back for like $50-$100. and that's after you get the money from it.
not sure how it works in your state tho

I hope it isn't totalled but it probably will be. It's always more expensive to get body work like that done than you'd think it would be. 75% of the value is the general rule and they're not gonna say the car is worth any more than book even though you have all the mods. If you can buy it back for cheap maybe you can sell some of those parts though or buy another cl and put em' on it. Good luck and keep your fingers crossed.

I've got full coverage, but i'm not going through my insurance. I'm going through the guy that hit me. He has Progressive and i just talked to the adjuster over the phone. She took my statement, and she's now trying to get a hold of the guy that hit me to confirm the story. Damn, i forgot that the driver side door was also damaged. So yea, it looks like it will be totalled.. Damn that sucks big time. But at least my loan will be written off. I can't believe this happened to my baby. I just detailed the leather, washed the car and even bought a nice air freshner that same day..

Thanks for all the support guys..

I'll see what they say.. I tried to get some estimates today, but i could only get Maaco's estimate. I wanted to get another bodyshop's estimate but they closed by the time i got out of Maaco.

Maaco quoted me about $3500 assuming they use all new parts.

KBB says the cars trade in value is worth about $4500. But we'll see what happens. The ins adjuster still hasn't called me today.. Wish me luck guys.

I hope you're ok. No to total. This doesn't appear to have bent the frame or caused any interior damage.

Yea, absolutely not. I just wanted to see what kinda estimates a crappy place like Maaco would give compared to a better bodyshop. So if Maaco says about $3500, i wonder how much a good bodyshop would charge..

Oh, and good news! Progressive called and agreed to their fault, so they will be accepting the liability. Now i'm waiting for someone from Enterprise to give me a call and pick me up to get me a rent a car.

I'm gonna drop the car off on Monday to Progressive and they will let me know whats up.
I must say, I'm very pleased with the service Progressive and Enterprise have provided so far. They've atleast been cooperative and helpful. So thumbs up to them!

Sorry

Hey man I am sorry that you were involved in an accident. Houston is a tough place to drive in. Consider yourself lucky they had insurance. Three people I know got hit recently by people with no insurance that sucks worse. I hope it works out good for you. If you end up with a CL after all the dust settles then we should hook up and talk about cars. Maybe even start a houston club to get better deals on parts for CL's . I am in the Galleria area let me know what you think.

I am sorry to hear you were totaled. That really sucks man. If I knew you I'd say "if there's anything I can do..." I've had my share of accidents but I always lucked out to where the car was not totalled. Good luck finding a new car man.

Sorry about he total I hope you come out ahead in the situation. If you have any parts you wanna sell let me know. I am looking for factory rims, clear corners, CAI and a few other parts. I live in Houston so it would be easy to make a sell.
