Odd Wires near Bluetooth HFL??? HELP!

Hey All,

So I'm currently searching as to why my Bluetooth isn't working in my 05 TL - been reading other threads and looking into buying a new module and replacing it. While I was taking it apart tonight to view what needs to be done when my part comes in, I took the dome lights off and a bunch of wires came falling out that I have never seen on any thread or DIY video. Does anyone know what these could be for? This area has never been touched before and it looked hard wired into the dome lights. Anyone have an idea what they are or why they are there? Looks like at the end of all the wiring there is a telephone jack. Looks like a hack job and not done by Acura when the car was made. The white/yellow plastic piece is holding a fuse in the middle of it. The part with the telephone jack was tucked up above to the passengers side of the car above the visor. Anyone have a clue? Anyone?...Bueller?

Maybe someone tried to hook a landline phone to the Bluetooth module!! lol That is an intriguing situation there.

Maybe there was a radar detector previously installed in the vehicle. And the previous owner only removed the radar detector and not the wiring.

Yeah, I think certain models of Escort RDs used RJ15 plugs for power. Goofy if you ask me.

Anyway here's the beast I think you are looking at

Adobeman, that is EXACTLY it! I was a little worried about what it could be for, but it has to be for a laser/radar detector. I never thought the guy I bought it off of did anything to the car, it was only a year and a half old when I bought it back in '07. Phew ok now I know I can take it out and doesn't go to something more meaningful. Thank you all for the replies!
