Rough Idle

I have a 97 2.2 cl that is idling rough while in drive and stopped (like a stop light, etc.). It doesn't do this in park however. I know this has been discussed before I was just wondering what ending being the problem. I have tried fuel system cleaner ( the $5 stuff), and I don't believe it to be the engine mounts because if it were the engine mounts it should logically be worse when I take off a stop and that is not the case. I don't believe it to be spark plugs because I still average 30mpg on a tank of gas and plugs should effect gas mileage also right? So, I think it probably the fuel filter or the EGR valve..Has anyone else had this problem before, if so , what did you do to make it go away? Before anybody gets all cranky and starts hating on me for being a noob again, I already used the search and I know this has been discussed before (I looked at every thread) but I can't find a solid answer, many of the posts didn't say what fixed the problem and even if it got fixed at all. I just don't want to waste money fixing things that aren't broken. Thanks

mine does the same thing. everything is new (plugs, wire, ignition, fuel filter, etc) except egr. i think it may be it also. i know acura will change a bunch of stuff before 100k, i hope egr is included. i have to look into it.

if the a/c is on its usually pretty normal for honda's to have a shaky idle. try what ^^^^ did and change plugs wires and distributor cap, rotor, and fuel filter(since these things have to be changed for a tune up anyways so ur not really wasting money). if those dont help at all then id say its normal. unless its an excessive idle/miss.

Read in some of the old threads where some members took off the EGR valves and cleaned them with carbeurator cleaner. Anybody got pics of exactly what part I'm looking for in the engine bay. It's supposed to be somewhere near the distributor or something? Figure I'd give this a try first...
