Glad to see you're still alive, bro.
It's always better to give up a little money for sanity. Trying to get there, myself.
Parting out FR-S.....hmmmm.....
We'll find the reason soon enough.

Morgieee!!
I remember you hating the work hours...which was whole night or 24/7
Glad you are happy now.
I am back to the civil eng. company where I did my interns at.
Settled and happy as well

Damn Morgan, I felt like hugging you after reading that story. I'm glad you're onto brighter pastures. I have a similar weight lifted feeling in a different aspect of my life and I swear I feel like it unlocked a part of me that was just plain happier at all times. Good things to good people, right?
I'm glad to hear you parted and sold the CL and FRS...not because I didn't love the cars, but I know that if you are moving on, it's for a very good reason.

Damn dude...
At the end of the day, if you don't like your job your life will waste away. Less money is a small negative for a choice that will make your life longer and less stressful.

Glad to hear that you moved on to greener pastures Morgan, sorry to hear about the FR-S parting, but I'm sure you have something cooking.
Lol. I love the Lotus F1 livery, and I respect Kimi (kinda sad he's going to Ferrari, I really wanted him to go to Red Bull, him and Vettel would make for humorous interviews). Grosjean is showing that he is a capable driver too.
Thanks Bob! I'm still trying to get my subscriptions right (changing my email address on here removed a whole bunch of them
), but once I do I'll be stopping by your thread.
Nice man, congrats! You graduated?
The FR-S isn't quite gone just yet. It wouldve been gone a month ago if the CL didn't give me fits right before being sold (fuel pump dying, steering rack failing, etc).
I might post up the story this weekend about what happened with the FR-S that finally broke me, but I'm sitting at work now and don't really have the time to go into it.
Thanks man! I'll be checking your thread soon too
Thanks! And yea, I have a new daily on the horizon, but I need to find the right chassis and build it first before switching it to my DD officially. Then the weekend car fun starts.
Damn straight.

I'll believe it when I see it
Maybe. I love the way it looks and handles. But I'm sure you guys will understand my reasoning behind it.
Anyway, time for me to head home.
Yup, no more class
Full time at a construction company now, doing highway design, bridge design, and some structural work for buildings and bridges
Yes yes sell the FRS.
Buy e46 M3 like I am planing to or a Mustang/Camaro
What's in your mind?

Congrats Morgan...I didnt know about the 2nd move....funny enough my HR still hasnt gotten back to me....I wrote to them recently, since I submitted another friends resume and they were like "we are still shortlisting"....

its funny how employers treat you like shit even when you do all the work...no pay hikes, no bonuses and no promotions and when you give them a 2 week notice, all the money and bonuses and promotions are on the table....I can relate to how you feel since I FELT EXACTLY THE SAME WAY with my old employer....
I bet you are feeling bitter sweet about the CL but I am sure you are happy after what you have been with the FRS....you loved it and wanted to love it more before it gave you a TONNN of issues....eager to see what you have coming next....but I will say welcome home

And you wouldn't want to know what's in my mind

It wasn't a rust bucket. It was/is a good car that suffers from PMS at inopportune times (for the owner).
And of course I have parts left over.

No worries man. I really appreciate you looking out for me
Yep, it is funny. IBM treated me really well, all things considered. The, now old, company I worked for took it personally that I quit. I have friends that still work over there that feed me info every now and then, and apparently management is still pissed at me for quitting
Well if that wasn't foreshadowing I don't know what is

and yeah I told you that was foreskin, but you had to go licking it....

yeah I have heard good things about IBM, another guy I was trying to help out was from IBM, their contract with Sprint was renewed with us....since my manager worked with him closely the guy got some nice reviews and hired in 3 months (still long haha)....he seems to be happier now....
the only place my company sucks (older company sucked more) was when it comes to bonus and promotions....every quarter we get the CEO's statements saying "we exceeded our profit margins and we are doing great and blah" but when bonus time comes, they are like "yeah, we didnt do good this year...so we will only give the 4% AIP instead of the promised 8%"

I missed your humor J But I did respond....unless my phone didn't sync, which has been an issue the past few days
My Hell....(part one)
It all started with a box....

That's not entirely fair. In reality, it started about a month before that box arrived on my doorstep when I placed the order for it, April 2nd. I purchased from a certain vendor simply because they promised that I would have it in my hands the following week, and I would be able to install it in time for Import Alliance (April 21st). Delay, after delay, after delay, and it finally arrived on my porch May 3rd. I was overwhelmed with excitement, until I opened the box and realized that a few key components had been missing.

It was a Stage 1 Vortech kit that was offered by a vendor on FT86Club. It included an upgraded fuel pump, port injectors, MAP sensor, and 13psi pulley (as opposed to the standard 9psi pulley).
Except the 13psi pulley was missing. I still had the 9psi pulley, but the tune I had was specific to the 13psi pulley. Due to work, I only had a very small window to install it, and wouldn't be able to get it on the dyno for a few weeks, so it was imperative that I have the correct tune. So I contacted the vendor, explained the situation, was told they're going to take care of it as soon as possible, and then silence.
May came and went. Then June. I was pissed. The vendor recognized this and offered me a free upgrade to the kit, a blow off valve'd setup and a 15psi pulley - the BOV would bleed it down to ~12psi at high RPMs. So I sent them one of the charge pipes. Once again I waited, and waited. After constant "next week"s and "shipping now"s, I had had enough and decided to take my plight public on the forum. So in late-July, I began to spam every single thread that the vendor created. I didn't like it, but the order had not yet been completed, 4 months after the initial purchase. I threatened to contact my credit card company to get the wheels rolling on a chargeback, and miraculously, the part shipped. It came in in decent condition. They didn't re-powdercoat the pipe after welding the flange, but at this point I really didn't care. I had stage 2 plans in mind that would delete the FMIC and the associated charge pipes, so my plan is to run it as is for the time being.
Charge pipe with Tial Q50:

Then the vendor (also tuner) contacted me to say that he felt bad about the clusterfuck that this transaction had become and is more than willing to pay for the install and even dyno tune it for free - with one caveat. He wanted me to go to his preferred shop, which was in Maryland. I had been to this shop in the past and know the owner, so I said sure. I contacted the owner and made a deal with him. I'd install the intercooler and charge piping at home as that takes the most amount of time, and settled on a date - September 4th, 10am - for the remaining install and dyno time. I was giddy. The weekend before the install I tore the front end down and installed the piping, FMIC, and modded the washer fluid reservoir.

Monday and Tuesday at work (still with the old company btw) was difficult. I was trying to cram three days worth of 14hr shifts into two days. I was at work that Tuesday from 11am until nearly 2am Wednesday morning. I managed to wake up at 6:30am and hit the road around 7. Had it been for something else, I would've slept right through my alarms.
I got to the shop a little late, around 10:45am. We strapped the car on the dyno for a baseline run.
It put down 171whp, and torque was somewhere in the high 120s. I was happy with those numbers from a nearly stock car as it matched other stock cars that ran on his dyno.
We get down to business with the remainder of the install. We stop around 1pm for lunch and the owner takes me for a ride in his turbo'd FR-S. His car was making around 450whp. It was fucking mind boggling fast.
Fast forward to 4pm and the car is strapped back on the dyno ready for tuning.

Don't mind the boost gauge on the strut tower, it was only for tuning purposes.
First run, 252whp/180ish wtq. I was scratching my head, as those are the numbers that Vortech claims out of their base kit on 91 octane. I'm running 93. And more pressure. The shop owner started laughing, then turned to me and said "that was only 7psi". I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. The car sounded absolutely amazing. It sounded NA at wide open throttle, and the woosh from the BOV was glorious.
Final numbers on the afternoon - 286whp, 216wtq at 9psi. Not bad for a car with the restrictive stock header. We didn't get around to installing the high boost pulley though.

That's where I'm going to leave it for tonight. I'm tired and need to be up at 6.

I think retail is $4500ish. There are cheaper options on the market, but I think the Vortech kit has the most potential this side of turbo chargers - it can even best some of the turbos on the market for this car, it just depends on what sort of powerband you're after.
I should be able to post part 2 tonight. I need to make sure my camera has a charge when I get home though.
