Euro Sport Rear Shock & Spring. I was surprised to find the new shock assemblies to be about 3/4" longer than the stock units coming out of the car. Keep this in mind when putting the new parts as more clearance will be needed than when the stock parts came out.

Kit installation instructions. This document did not offer step by step instructions as it refers to the shop manual. If I could figure out how to post a PDF file of this I would do so?

Euro Sport front shocks & springs. Again, I was surprised to find the new shock assemblies to be about 3/4" longer than the stock units coming out of the car. Keep this in mind when putting the new parts in as more clearance will be needed than when the stock parts came out. It really helped to remove the lower fork assembly on the front.

Here the rear shock access cover is removed and we are looking at the top nuts holding the rear shock in place. The 2 outer nuts with orange paint on them get removed. I needed a breaker bar to free these up but it was a snap. I also went back and re-torqued these after a week of driving, they did not feel loose but better safe than sorry.

A second person is needed to pri down on the suspension while the shock assemblies are removed & installed. The second person will also be needed to hold the shock assembly up inside the towers while the first person threads on the upper nuts. The process is really very easy and is a hell of a lot cheaper than the $780 the dealer wanted to do the work.

View of the rear a-arm. If you plan to use the scissor jack to swing down the a-arm make sure it is positioned such that it does not pinch the wiring harness running to the rear brakes. Also make sure the jack is not tucked between the a-arm pivot point and frame or you'll just put potentially damaging pressure on those points. After installing the shocks DO NOT fully tighten any of the suspesnion components until the car is back on the ground with the vehicle wieght / load on the suspension.

Here the tire jack with wood shields are installed between the a-arm & the body. Make sure the jack is positioned on the a-arm such that it will cause the a-arm to swing down and NOT put force against the pivot point. If positioned properly it does not take much force to cause the a-arm to swing or move down. As one can see the wood protected the a-arm & frame from damage but nothing protected the jack from my massive strength...#@$#. In reality the coupler on the jack bent with very little side pressure applied. Make sure you use a large shaft through both holes of the coupler as the metal is really soft and very little side pressure here will bend it.

The rear shock is removed, the jack is still in place and repaired (bent back). The jack worked well & in our case our pri-bar was too short to provide the leverage needed to push the a-arm down.

Put the car securely up on jack-stands. Then remove the front shock tower brace. There are 3 nuts on each side of the brace.

Sorry this picture is not that helpful as it is just a view up the front shock tower. Removing the front shocks requires that the shock tower brace be removed as well as the 3 nuts at the top of the shock and the nut and bolt from the bottom of the shock. We also removed the fork assembly below the shock to provide more clearance for the removal and installation of the shock assembly. After installing the shocks DO NOT fully tighten any of the suspesnion components until the car is back on the ground with the vehicle wieght / load on the suspension.

Alignment straight edge tool pressed flush against the front tire; ready to mark the toe position at the far end of the tool. Even though it is less precise the tool is placed against the tire not the rim, don't want to bung up those nice new wheels do we!

Toe alignment mark 5' away from the front tire, done on both sides of the car before starting work. After the new parts are installed go for a short test drive. Again park the car with the steering wheel and tires straight. Now repeat alignment mark process and adjust toe to match original values / position. In my case the toe on both sides had moved ~1/4" at the 5' mark. After adjustment repeat the test drive and alignment check again. It sounds like more work than it is, it only takes a couple of minutes.
