Toe alignment mark 5' away from the front tire, done on both sides of the car before starting work. After the new parts are installed go for a short test drive. Again park the car with the steering wheel and tires straight. Now repeat alignment mark process and adjust toe to match original values / position. In my case the toe on both sides had moved ~1/4" at the 5' mark. After adjustment repeat the test drive and alignment check again. It sounds like more work than it is, it only takes a couple of minutes.
