once in a while there's a "click" sound that i believe is coming from the sunroof (closed). anybody else hear anything similar?

 

I get the same clicks when the car transitions through big temperature swings, like backing out of the garage into the blazing sun. It goes away when everything warms up.

 

I hear it about once a day, when starting driving. Not sure where it is coming from. We had to have our sunroof, which was making noise, replaced. After two unsuccessful efforts, our local dealer, who is otherwise quite excellent at everything they do, got it right. But the click still occurs, which makes me think.....maybe it is not from the sun roof.

 

I hear a creak more than a click from the sunroof once in a while when the car is cold. Thats just the roof flexing, happens to most of the cars with panoramic roofs - happened to my Scion tC too.

 

Interesting observation. So if your theory is correct, if it is warm out we shouldn't hear the click, but if it is cold out, we should? Or am I misunderstanding your point?

It may be a little grinding noise from the sunroof at closing time or else it can be the normal creaking sound.

 

My sunroof started to make a springing noise when I close it, but still no creaking like before.

 

comforting to hear that i am not the only one hearing it. and yes, it is more of a creaking rather than a click. thinking about it more, it probably makes sense, since the glass itself is held down by two arms and rests on pads. i think the only time that i don't hear it is when the sunroof is fully opened.

well, i guess can ignore that sound for now, on to the soft rattle that seems to be coming from what i thought was the glove box plastic separator but might actually be coming from inside the dash just above...maybe, and only on repeated small bumps...guess i'll just crank up the music!
