Haha thanks Quyen. Nah they're just customers vehicles. Sure I can detail your car next spring if you're interested. I'm all done the heavy paint corrections for this season.

Photo shoot was a lot of fun, great to get out and meet people!

Now for more good news... a rock or something smoked my sunroof today on my way home on the Henday and it now has a million freaking cracks across the whole thing!

Holy fuck, someone was seriously hating on your car, sucks to see that man. If Vince cant work his magic, it would seem almost worth it to pay the $1000 deductible, even though its a kick in the nuts, its better than paying out of pocket to have the entire side of the car painted/blended being pearl n all.

When my car was backed into and the person ran, they classified it as vandalism and waived my deductible.

Ouch that sucks to hear. Same thing happened to my parents rav4 on the way into Calgary. They heard a loud boom and after looking around for a bit pulled back the liner for the moon roof and glass was falling in. Entire thing was shattered. Wasn't a cheap fix either.

All cracked this morning, & popped on the way to work before I could tape it up. Oh well, at least I have no glass in the car, and I'm hopefully getting new glass tomorrow night for it. Might even use this as an excuse to black out my headliner or cover it in suede...

@Jeff - No experience with transform spoiler but Doug's Place Too did a spot on blend for my repair. They matched the clear coat perfectly and I'm insanely anal about paint.

@Mitch - Nice pickup! Bring it out to the next meet

Speaking for myself, you won't see me going to Doug's Place anytime soon. A few years back, they did the collision work on my last car. When I inspected the work, it looked great...colour match was near perfect. And there have been a lot of damage. But then I noticed a rough, loonie sized discolouration on the hood (which they didn't point out...had to ask about it myself). They told me that when they pulled up the tape after painting, it pulled off some paint, which they touched up. Being nice guys, they offered me a discounted rate on a full hood repaint.

Yeah...I won't be back there again.

For clarification, did you visit "Doug's Place" or "Doug's Place Too"? They're run by the same owners I believe but Doug's Place tends to specialize in BMW's while Doug's Place Too targets Honda/Acura. Not to say that they don't accept work on other makes of vehicles though.

Doug's Place Too did great work on my recent damage and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them out. However, my brother recently had work done on his m3 by Doug's Place and it's not impressive given their high reputation. Passenger side was fixed due to a massive dent and adjacent panels were blended. Strangely enough, when he closes the passenger door now it sounds like there is broken glass inside. His window never needed replacement so no idea how it turned into that. Also, they left a nice scuff right above the badge on his trunk. He had to point it out to them and they said "they'll buff it out". I told him not to take it back and that I would fix it myself seeing as how they left holograms on the area they painted. If they can't properly refine the paint after using a heavy compound why would I trust them to buff something out? I wouldn't want to go back to Doug's Place either.

Sure you're more than welcome to help but once it gets to the polishing component I prefer to leave that to myself and my detailing partner. If you're wanting to learn the basics to maintenance and such, I'm more than happy to teach you but teaching paint correction is a whole different story. It's not that it's immensely difficult, but that it's a very time consuming process and requires hours on end of practice to achieve good results.

Side note, here are some pics I posted on fb that I took from the meet.

First one is my first attempt with Lightroom so bear with me. Still working on getting my composition right and figuring out what's the best settings to shoot with.

This was our mini KBP shoot after we did some rolling shots on the Henday. I'm not happy with how most of them turned out but I suppose this one is decent, minus the dust niblets on the filter and light flare.

I'm no car photographer by any means but figured I might as well bring my SLR to the meet since it gets under used. I mainly use it for documentation when doing car details.

That picture you took of our cars Vincent is perfect, alot of my friends whom are great photo G's use solar flare to the max, and their pictures turn out fantastic.

Check some of his stuff out for examples.

It sucks, but good news! I picked up a whole new sunroof (glass, motor and tracks) for $40 today!

Hopefully will be going in next weekend, and my plan is to black out the A Pillars and headliner at the same time since they'll be out of the car. Gonna be one helluva project lol.

Beats me, I msg'd him on FB, see what he says.

What everyone needs to understand, is he did take quite a few pics, and does this stuff on the side, post processing may take a bit of time to have allll the pics done.

Thanks Sanjay! I really like a lot of those shots your buddy did. I'm still learning how to utilize the flare to my advantage, rather than fighting with it.

Indeed, he did rolling shots for 4 cars and then a bunch of group shots. Post processing can take up a surprising amount of time since you can change and edit so many little details.

^ Haha sure no worries. For now, I'd suggest doing some preventative maintenance before winter hits. Give it a good wash via 2 bucket method, clay the entire vehicle, and put on a durable sealant/wax to protect it from the elements. There are lots of great videos and how to videos online of how to do the 2 bucket method.

Also, I'd be down for another meet one of these weekends

@Quyen - A particular brand in reference to? As in car soap or something like that? I like to use a wide range of products for each particular job. Meguiar's makes plenty of great products that I use for a lot of my go to's.

@Sanjay - Yeah I got the link yesterday. I think I accidentally deleted it since it was in my junk folder. I was hoping I would have a front view for the rolling shot but guess not. Lol looks like Jeff didn't make it past the editing for his rollers
