What to use on orbital buffer?
What to use on orbital buffer?
So I'm thinking about going to get a 20-30 dollar Orbital Buffer (either 6 inch or 10 inch) <- 1. which should i get?. Also Since i've learned to detail my car from you knowledgeable folks on here i've done my car by hand using meguiar's clay kit, then nxt paste wax. My dad asked me to detail my stepmom's car after i clayed and waxed his 83 mercedes benz that needed it terribly... It's also about time I do my car too so I figured i'd go spend 30 bucks on an orbital buffer. So since i've never used liquid waxes... 2. Could you guys point me in the right direction for which liquid wax to use that is sold OTC at advance or autozone?. 3. I plan on just claying and waxing but would it be much more worth it to buy a polish as well? Point me in the right direction fellas I know you will! Thanks a bunch in advance
4. Also, are there different pads I need to buy for the buffer? I can't see using the same one to wax and also buff....
-I just realized I didn't SEARCH.
if theres another thread that has all this info already could someone post me the link please?!

The sticky at the top of this page has alot of valuable info. I'd say read through that first and see if you have specific questions. Then search them first
IMO, the $30 orbital will help you wax easier, but won't do any swirl removal.
I'd invest in a PC, some pads, and polishes. Polishing will make a huge difference.

which liquid wax should I use for the orbital? I was leaning towards the Meg's NXT liquid wax or the Gold Class (which is like 7 bucks cheaper, is there a difference between the two?)
also which liquid polish should I get?

because i'm doing my stepmom's volvo wagon first and My dad was paying for the wax I just picked up some Meg's Gold Class Liquid Wax. I will most likely pick up the NXT 2.0 for my car this weekend
Yes if you apply too much you are just wasting product. You want very light coats just enough to cover the paint. Any more and you are just making more work for yourself at removing it. I would recommend that you return the Megs Gold Class and just go with the NXT 2.0 Synthetic Sealant. It will give you a longer lasting protection and won't stain any trim.
