Removing black scuff marks
Thanks for your replies--I don't think the scuff mark is from another car, it's at the far right corner of the rear bumper. It looks like something black, made out of rubber rubbed against the car. I try to rub it off but the mark is still there. Is there a product out there that safe to use?
I thought W 40 might do the trick...it didn't. It looks like a permanent mark that is driving me nuts. The Acura service tech recommended a "remove all" product from Walmart. Hummm....We'll see if it works.

Be careful if using a solvent.....it could have adverse side effects like cloding the paint because of the flex agents in the bumper paint.
Go to the store and get one of those Mr. Clean pads, wet it in warm water and rub out the mark.
Now if the scrap is bad then it may have removed the paint and what you see is the primer material of the bumper itself and that obviously can't be removed but must be re-painted. With out seeing it, or at least a picture, I can only speculate.

Colgate?
Toothpaste.
It has a mild abrasive and whitening agent. It works a little like polishing compound. Rub it in using a terry cloth rag or wash cloth.
However, what you might be seeing (I hope not) is the base plastic of the bumper cover because the color and clear coat has been abraded off.
If that's the case, you will need to get it repainted.
