Dirt outline around emblems...

I have a white car, so this is one of my consequences...

How can i remove this film from the outline... When i debadged a certain part of the trunk lid the outline was left there --- all the crap i used on it couldnt remove it so its not just a simple "water/wash" technique ---

In the end i remember i had my PC and threw a pad on and made short work of it...

However id rather not remove the rest of the badging just for fear of not being able to line it up accurately when i re-apply...

any suggestions?

i think hes talking about the glue/tape residue stuff that is left after you debadge...and how you can get completely rid of it

or maybe that when his car gets dirty, the dirt outlines where the emblems used to be so it looks like a dirt emblem? I really have no clue to be honest

I think he's saying he's got dirt/stain built up around the edges of the emblems.

For the emblems he removed when he de-badged, he was able to polish it all out.

For the emblem's still on the car, he wants to know how to get rid of the dirt outline.

(at least thats the best I can make out of it)

If you do want to completely remove the other badges, get some of that neon green tape for auto paint from any auto store. Take a few strips of the tape and put it around the emblem so that when it's removed you will have a square, or rectangle, around where the emblem used to be. You should then be able to easily put the emblem back exactly where it went.

Kind of like this ... but I wouldn't use regular scotch tape, and I'd get the tape edges right up against the emblem instead of how they did it, but it should give you a good idea.

I used a Q tip on the acura emblem with some polish and it helped a bit out, though i must have used 10 to do the emblem in fear of scratching the paint deeply
