I took my Civic to the one on Gessner. I was impressed with the quality (although I really don't have anything to compare it to) and I believe it costs me ~$300 for one of the cooler tints.

If it helps, here is the location information for them:

How good of a job did they do? Did they remove door panels, etc?

I just got my windows tinted at Executive Motoring on Hillcroft near Westheimer. I've used them for the past 10 years on my other cars and haven't really had any problems really. They use 2 different brands of film there, Sun-Gard and Huper Optic.. The Sun-Gard line they carry is Diamond (premium line). I got their NiChrome Diamond (best of the line) $200 out the door. It's a full metallic film with lifetime warranty. If you have a NAV or plan on getting a NAV, you're not gonna want to go with a metallic tint since it can interfere with the GPS signals and thats what the Huper Optic film is for.. which runs $500..

In any case, I got 35% front windows and 20% the rest of the way around. I would go at least that dark, if not limo tint on the rear windows..

anyhow, here's a pic of my car with the tint on:

3M has several different lines of window film out there and the only one I'd consider getting is their 3M Color Stable film. Star Tinting near Chimney Rock and 59 quoted me a price of $260+tax for the film. Color Stable is not a metallic film, it is a dyed film with carbon to retain the coloring so the film doesn't turn purple over time (supposedly). Do not purchase 3M unless it's color stable, cause you're film will turn purple in a few years. This is my first time using Diamond's NiChrome and so far I'm impressed. I'd recommend the film!

hm, i dont know about taht, because i couldnt see them, but if you're asking about moleskin, then yea, they took care of taht.

and as for type of tint, i got diamond nichrome as well, i think about 30% or 35% in front (whatever the darkest legally is), and about 20% in back.

oh and those worried about navigation w/ metallic tint, its really not that big of a deal. Sometimes right after i start my car the unit will read my position wrong by a little bit, but after a few minutes it fixes itself.

David, the legal tint in Texas has dropped from 35% to 20%!

and when I went to get tinted a couple years ago, Diamond Nichrome wasnt even an option. Dont know if thats a brand or a material.

I opted for a ceramic material, and the brand is called Huper Optik. its one of the best tint available.

I chose a ceramic tint. there are definitely more options out there.
since you're calling around, why not listen to what the tinters have to say?
thats what I did, and I chose a tint that I think would benefit me.
and it has.

I can confirm.

The TRANSPORTATION CODE Sec. 547.613. RESTRICTIONS ON WINDOWS.
(2) a wing vent or a window that is to the left or right of
the vehicle operator if the vent or window has a sunscreening device
that in combination with the vent or window has:
(A) a light transmission of 25 percent or more

Ok I talked to executive tint and they have black max ceramic tint. Anyone has that and is it any good? Also they said the darkest we can go on that tint is 15%. I thought 25% is the darkest we can do in Texas? I'm confused...

^ Dude they say they can go that low but that doesn't mean you have to get it that low.
