Choice Auto - if you ever wanna get your whole car painted for a good price let me know.

Also the paint has to cure so know bra or wax on my car for a month or so. But when it is curing, it is 'stronger' against rock chips.

 

And the paint job was perfect. Only thing they didn't do perfectly was the door handles because they misinstalled two handles which is fine. I'm getting them to fix it when I get back from Houston.

 

Oh yeah forgot to say that I didn't do door jambs, I had planned it to be a little darker so it would technically look black without or little sunlight. I may have to bring it back to the door jambs, but it doesn't look bad though.

I just ordered my TEIN SS and EDFC control box! :P Can't wait to get them.....dunno when I will be able to get them in yet because leaving town for family in 2 weeks but I will soon after that! I have never owned coilovers only just springs, and I got the best. :P

This is a interesting story to say the least but I will share it here. I have had Acura's for many years and my Mom has liked them and also started to get Acuras. Her first was an 06 RL, then a 09 TL. We just traded in the TL recently due to her having some back issues (retired and in the late 60s) and it hurts her to get in and out of a lower car. She was interested in a Toyota Venza XLE, well she didn't like how it drove too soft, too much roll, or unstable feeling, so she drove a 2013 Sienna XLE. And I thought she loved it. She bought it. It drove better, but then after a few weeks she started to hate it. It leaned a lot and was just unrefined and unresponsive. Didn't handle real well. It is a van, I don't know what she was expecting. I actually wanted her to drive the MDX first but she turned me down when I mentioned it. So I won't argue with her.

She learned the hard way. With less than 1000 miles, she called me two days ago and said I need to talk seriously. So we talked that evening, and she said she wants to get rid of the van. I was just shocked, and so was my Dad. But she gave her reasons, and the next day, she went to Acura and worked a deal on a new MDX. The 09 TL was paid off, so it was a big payment on the Toyota which we didn't get too hurt by. We bought for 37k and got 34k for the van back. Still around 18k down on the MDX made it have a nice low payment for her and a nice car.

The MDX drives like a dream, handles like a car, and has a sturdy feel. She fell in love immediately. So now with my 2012 TL SH-AWD and her MDX we got two Acura's in the family again. I hope she enjoys it as I think she is so far.

She did complain about one thing, and it's the gas mileage. TERRIBLE! I am not sure what she is getting but with 100 miles on it now, she is already at half a tank. Is this normal?! My TL gets at least 300 a tank with AWD. The other thing we need to figure out due to her small size and height, she has trouble getting in because of the frame rails seem to be a bit wider than normal and the gap between the outside and the seat is pretty large. Anyone have some recommendations on some steps?

That's normal for the MDX and that's why I told my wife no to it. I had one for a few weeks as a loaner and I felt like I was driving my Titan again. No bueno but such a sweet ride.

 

Yeah, maybe it will get better. Haha be the DD again.

 

I am so not happy right now. I got my TEIN SS in, and I ordered them with the EDFC kit. And all I got was the TEIN SS and motors. NO Controller. THMotorsports is who I got it from and they charged me for the full price of the dang kit. So I have tried to contact them and still nothing. This is upseting me. :

 

That sucks. Now you have to take it back that you got it cheaper if you didn't get everything.

Anyone going to go to that meet tomorrow night? Jeremy and I were there last week.

Finally blacked out my chrome on doors and roof moldings with Vinyl. Pain in the you know what, but at least it's done. Amateur I did pretty good, only a few small bubbles that I couldn't get out but they are hard to see near the mirrors.

 

Great job! It made quite a difference. All 4G TL's should do this.
