Anyone got some 07 08 base TL wheels they want to sell me? Or some other 17 to 18 inch wheels that fit the 3g TL. Looking for silver wheels only...No gun metal or black. PM me if you do.

Alright fellas, and ladies if there are any, lets make this our official Houston thread. To be used for any future Houston and surrounding area meets. With a list of people down to meet up all on one page, we should have better turnouts. In case of a meet, PM would be the way to go to notify everyone.

That's a lot of miles to drive for coilovers. You must be getting a crazy deal.

I decided not to go. It's 450 for some BC Racing Coilovers with 10k miles. Good deal IMO but decided against modding the car. Gonna save up for a project car by the end of the year.

I think the big thing, and at least my initial inclination, was that the hurricane was no big thing when it came ashore. Because it wasn't...

It *was* pretty "weak AF".

But the following four days of pounding was a different story. *That* was intense AF.

Sure. It just made landfall as a cat 4. Katrina made landfall as a cat 3.

This is an awful disaster and we need to recognize it as such and help where we can.

I've been doing 20 hour days because of this so please forgive me if I'm a bit grumpy. I'm heading back to work in three hours.

Right. But it also made landfall south of Houston. If this was the official ROCKPORT thread, we may have had different outlooks.

Regardless, I agree it is an awful disaster.

That Toyota is toast. No, wait "For Sale: Immaculate late model Camry, driven only to church on Sundays by my late grandmother. Car has been recently detailed (including underbody) and the interior has been steam cleaned. May need an oil change and some minor maintenance."

No, you were right. We can make jokes about some guy slamming his ride and ripping open his oilpan at the first speedbump, but this isn't anything to joke about. Not only have people lost everything, but their property values will plummet (estimates are up to 60%) and those properties that were in the 500 year floodplain will now have to pay for flood insurance - forever.

It is a staggering disaster for those even peripherally affected.

Fuck... can't catch a break:

Explosions hit flood-swamped Arkema chemical plant in Texas

WASHINGTON/AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Two explosions hit the flood-swamped Arkema SA (AKE.PA) chemical plant 25 miles northeast of Houston early on Thursday, and a sheriff’s deputy was taken to a hospital after inhaling fumes, the French company said.

Arkema said further explosions of organic peroxides produced by the Crosby, Texas, plant and stored onsite were possible, and it urged people to stay away as the fire burns itself out. Black smoke was billowing from the site, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez told reporters at a televised news briefing.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Wednesday it had temporarily barred flights from the area because of the risk of fire or explosion.

Assistant Fire Chief Bob Rayall said on Thursday that “a series of pops” at the scene led to the fires. “We haven’t had massive explosions,” Rayall said, emphasizing the fires had been contained so far.

Rayall said three of the site’s nine containers with the peroxides had lost refrigeration, and one had caught fire.

Arkema said the company had no way to prevent fires because the plant is swamped by about 6 feet (1.83 m) of water due to flooding from Harvey, which came ashore in Texas last week as a powerful Category 4 hurricane, knocking out power to its cooling system.

Hope you guys aren't too close to this area

I work disasters. I troll the regional sites to see what the people on the ground are saying.

During Sandy, we actually used feedback from A-zine to validate some info and used that for fuel shipments.
