Didn't think I was supposed to talk about it in the forum, but since you are a mod I assume I am ok with saying it. I work at Autonation Acura in League City in Sales.
Ah, right on. You can mention whatever you're comfortable with. I'm pretty sure you can't try to sell cars here, but simply mentioning where you work is no big deal.
I thought it might be Autonation based on what you mentioned prior and where you are.
I'll try to track you down and say "hi" next time I'm in!

Ok cool. My ugly mug is in a picture on the introductions forum in case you need to pick me out. Or you could just ask for Tripp. I screwed up and asked if anyone was interested in the new NSX for my first post here, it was immediately deleted, so since then I have been iffy about posting anything about where I work. Don't want to get banned or anything, and I am not trying to use this account to sell anything anyways.
Hmm. Don't know why that would have gotten deleted. Maybe it just came off as odd timing.
Do you guys have a new NSX there?
I think basic rule of thumb is "don't try to sell anything without being a vendor" and you should be fine. There are a handful of folks that work at dealerships and I don't see why you posting pictures of cars on the lot (especially the NSX) would be any different than Joe Member going to see it an posting pictures. Plus, I think it's nice to have some members that can give some insides scoop or behind the scenes info.
Well we did have an allocation open but we already made our decisions on it since nobody on our list stepped up to order in time. We will have an unclaimed NSX coming in sometime in the next 2 months. I will be sure to post up when it is coming in so anyone who wants to see it in person can come out and take a look. I know it is going to be the Nouvelle Blue Pearl $6,000 paint job, with the Orchid interior and the Tech package. And I believe we added the carbon spoiler and the red brake calipers. It's going to look amazing on our showroom lol
TLDude you down in TX City? I haven't seen really any modded Acura down here, but we get a couple in to the dealership from time to time. Our Parts rep has a modded RDX (cosmetic only because it is still owned by Acura)
I longer have the TL but I took it to autonation a few times. Bud and the asian lady in service knows me.
I recently got to sit in #131, optioned out, bright silver exterior, black interior, bright red calipers and gun metal colored wheels, and my thoughts were as follows:
I always thought the interior looked good in photos, but I was rather unimpressed when I sat in it. I'm sure a dual color interior would've looked much better than the all black one I sat in, but yeah... Even when I put the car into accessory mode so that the dash would light up, I was a bit underwhelmed. Though, if I had to pay 156k US, it wouldn't bother me as much as paying 206k CAN here. Spending over 200 large seems nuts, as a starting price.
Also, the carbon accessories are meh at best. You barely notice them (at least in the bright showroom), because it all has that dry carbon matte look. Before seeing the car, I always thought "if I buy one (pipe dream) I'd get all the carbon goodies!!", but, since seeing it, the only glossy carbon fiber part I'd splurge on was the roof, as it had the glossy UV resistant gel coating on it and it did add some noticeable bling to the car. The engine compartment was no different- if you don't stare right at it, you don't even notice it being carbon fiber. It's a shame, really.
What's worse is the Carbon bits don't subtract weight. In fact they actually make it heavier. Acura did a fantastic job keeping weight down without them. The asian lady was Lin but she is no longer at our dealership. Bud is still here though, rockin his s2k. I somewhat agree on the interior, however remember that Acura built these to be lived with daily, so they are going to feel more like daily drivers than a true supercar... that is until you drive one haha.
Hi Acura friends. Quick question. Do the poster's here living in Houston bring their car to the dealership for issues / check ups or DIY or a local mechanic. If so, can you please recommend? Nothing too serious, just a couple small things needed.
Thank you.
Yes, sorry about that. My car makes strange nosie when turning the wheel. Based on the search here, it says to change O-ring.
Also was hoping to get help with general tune up / maintenance. Hoping there is no serious issues.
I wish there was a decent crowd of TL owners up in my neck of the woods. To many kids owning these cars and doing stupid shit to them.
Not really, beside the member i meet up in the past (like 10 cars lol) and justonjack, not that much AZ member saw my car in person, its hard to find a MRP TL-S in Houston. I only saw two more MRP TL-S (1 exactly like mine and the other have Ebony/silver interior MT) but one is in NJ now and the other one the owner probably sold it.
The one in this pics is now back in NJ.

In Midtown but you might see me stuck in traffic on Southwest Frwy, West Loop, or North Frwy. Or I could be parked up at a restaurant, enjoying that diverse H-Town cuisine scene.
